Dump His Dying 42

Chapter 4

During the ride, Roman kept trying to make conversation. But Hazel, unwilling to play along, simply closed her eyes and pretended

to sleep.

After some time, the car stopped. Opening her eyes, Hazel found they were at a restaurant.

“Hazel, we missed our anniversary celebration, so I’m making it up to you today,” Roman said, coming around to open her door.

The restaurant had been meticulously decorated, with flowers everywhere she looked. The central table was laden with all her

favorite dishes.

They sat across from each other as Roman served her food, peeling shrimp and cracking crab shells just as he always had.

The atmosphere was so harmonious it was as if no rift had ever existed between them.

Until a server brought over a cake, Hazel’s fingers paused mid-motion. Before she could speak, Roman stood and placed a slice in

front of her.

“You mentioned wanting mango cake the other day. I made this one myself. Try it-tell me if it’s good?”

Meeting his expectant gaze, she sighed wearily.

“Roman Winters, I’m not the one who wanted mango cake. And I’m allergic to mangoes.”

Her words coincided with a special notification sound from his phone.

He glanced at it, and his expression immediately changed.

“Hazel, there’s an emergency at the company. I need to go handle it right away. Could you take a taxi home when you’re done?”

Hazel said nothing, simply nodding silently.

After watching him leave the restaurant, she stood, hailed a taxi, and gave the driver a simple instruction. “Please follow that car

ahead.”

The car eventually stopped outside a tattoo parlor.

Hazel entered and climbed to the second floor, where she heard an angry shout.

“What the hell are you doing running around instead of staying in the hospital?!”

Roman’s face was contorted with undisguised rage and poorly concealed concern. Yet Naomi seemed unafraid. In fact, his presence

made her smile.

“Today’s my birthday, so I gave myself a present.”

She turned her back to him and slowly removed her top, revealing a large, fresh tattoo on her back.

Though it was still red and bleeding from being so new, it was unmistakably Roman’s portrait!

Roman traced the tattoo with his fingertip, his voice hoarse. “I told you, I’ll only ever love Hazel. Why must you…”

He clenched his fist at his side, his eyes churning with dark, indecipherable emotions.

Naomi approached him, her body still naked, step by step.

Спартат и

From the moment you saved me, living for you became my only purpose. I’ve loved you for eight long years. You’ve consumed my entire existence. Without you, I might as well be dead!”

Please, Roman Give me a reason to live…”

With those words, she rose on her tiptoes and kissed his lips. That fleeting kiss seemed to unlock something within Roman. Unable to restrain himself any longer, he seized the back of Naomi’s head and kissed her deeply.

Hazel’s nails dug into her palms. Despite preparing herself mentally for this moment, witnessing it firsthand felt like someone had ripped a gaping hole in her heart. The pain was so intense her eyes welled with tears.

Inside, the sounds of passionate kissing grew increasingly brazen and intimate.

Hazel wiped away her tears and turned, walking briskly away.

Back home, she packaged all the gifts and jewelry Roman had given her over the years and listed them for sale online. Perhaps because she’d priced them low, they sold quickly.

Early the next morning, while Hazel was still sleeping, her bedroom door burst open.

“Hazel, why the hell did you sell our wedding rings?!”
