Dinner Invitation
Delilah had always claimed that Demian had gone bungee jumping to prove his love for her, to break through his own limits and confess. She had never expected an accident to happen.
At first, Damon had thought there might be some truth to this story, especially considering Demian’s attitude toward Delilah before his death.
But after spending more time with Delilah, he increasingly believed she was lying.
Opening the video, it showed a blurry scene of Demian bungee jumping from a distance. At first, Delilah and Demian were standing together on the platform. Then, for reasons unknown, Delilah stepped back a few steps, and immediately after, Demian jumped off.
The video was too blurry to make out many details, but from the distance between them, it was possible that Delilah had pushed Demian. Moreover, there was a moment when Demian seemed to trip or get caught as he jumped, which didn’t look like someone who was ready to leap voluntarily.
“Kin, have everyone investigate who else was there that day. Ask them one by one if anyone recorded a video, and offer high prices! If anyone has a video, buy it,” Damon commanded.
If Demian’s death was really related to Delilah, Damon would never let her get away with it.
Later, as the workday neared its end, Hazel brought the signed contract to Price Corp and walked straight to Damon’s office, a place she was very familiar with.
However, before, she had only come to deliver something or to have a meal with him. Now, she was being escorted in by someone else.
It was truly a different time.
The assistant leading the way didn’t intend to go inside, so Hazel pushed open the door and saw Damon sitting behind his desk/ his face stern as he stared at his computer screen. His sharp jawline and smooth side profile were aligned perfectly with the doorway, as if he had positioned himself there to wait for her.
Hazel walked over to the desk and sat down, handing him the signed contract.
“I was wondering if you’re free after work tonight. I’d like to invite you to dinner,” she said with a smile.
Since they hadn’t been able to eat at the engagement banquet, and he had given her such a big project, it seemed right to show her appreciation and make it easier for future collaborations.
Damon flipped through the contract, trying to keep his expression neutral, though inside, he was practically bursting with excitement. If he had known that getting closer to Hazel would be this simple, he would have handed over all the major projects to her earlier. 1
Wait… no! Why was he doing all this just to please Hazel?
He shook his head slightly, trying to rid himself of these strange thoughts.
“That’s the way it should be. Although we’ve had some misunderstandings before, now that we’re both in charge of our respective companies, we should put the bigger picture first. Since you, President Queen, personally invited me, I’ll cancel my other plans and join you for this meal.”
Just as he finished speaking, the office door suddenly opened, and Delilah’s pretentious voice rang out.
“Damon, you said you had to work late, so I had the cook prepare some of your favorite dishes…”
Her words stopped abruptly when she saw Hazel. She had walked all the way to the office without anyone informing her that Hazel was there!
After all, she was now Damon’s wife, and everyone in the company knew that Hazel was his ex–wife. Delilah had assumed that

she would have been informed immediately upon entering the company.
It seemed she needed to hire an assistant within the company to prevent situations like this, or else her position was too passive.
“Oh, Hazel is here too. Were you two discussing work?” Delilah asked, feigning innocence.
Hazel didn’t respond. Instead, she turned to look at Damon. “It seems that this meal isn’t meant for you, President Price. I’ll leave now. You two can continue your conversation.”
While she could still talk calmly with Damon, because of their work relationship, she didn’t want to say a word to Delilah.
Seeing that Hazel was about to leave, Damon didn’t even care that Delilah was still there. He quickly stood up and grabbed Hazel’s wrist. However, when he met her eyes, he quickly let go.
“There are still some details in the contract that I need to discuss with you in person. Please wait a moment. I’ll just put on my jacket and we can go together.”
Hazel didn’t speak, instead directing her gaze toward the insulated lunchbox in Delilah’s hands.
Damon immediately understood her unspoken message. He turned and glared at Delilah.
“Next time you want to do this, let me know in advance. Otherwise you’ll just end up wasting your time. Take these to Kin; he hasn’t had lunch yet. Afterward, have him drop you off. I have something to take care of, so I won’t be talking to you anymore.”
As he spoke, he put on his jacket and grabbed his car keys. He didn’t even glance at Delilah as he followed Hazel out of the office.
Delilah stood alone in the office, gripping the lunchbox tightly in her hands, her eyes filled with a dangerous glint.
Was it only when Hazel disappeared that Damon would notice her? No, if Hazel posed a threat to the person Damon cared most about, he wouldn’t tolerate it, right?
Delilah raised her hand and lightly touched her slightly rounded belly, a sinister smile tugging at her lips.
When she delivered the lunchbox to Kin’s office, she overheard a conversation between some employees.
“Did you see that? Miss Hasani came to bring food to President Price, but in the end, he still went out with his ex–wife. You see, it’s all about having real ability in the end.”
“Back when Miss Queen wasn’t even the eldest daughter of the Queen family, President Price treated her the same way as he does his current wife. But now that she has become President Queen, President Price’s attitude has totally changed.” 1
Another employee patted the first one on the shoulder. “People like us don’t need to think too much about it. Let’s just focus on doing our jobs.”
Delilah walked up behind the gossiping girl, recognizing her as Kin’s assistant. She had often seen this employee when coming. to the CEO’s office. Kin, being busy, often asked her to handle simple tasks.
“Why are you two so happy, gossiping like that?” Delilah’s voice made both employees freeze, quickly sitting up straight and turning stiffly around.
When their eyes met hers, they wished they could sink into the ground. They hadn’t realized that the one overhearing their conversation was none other than the current CEO’s wife. This was social suicide! No, it wasn’t just social suicide; if she whispered a word in the CEO’s ear, they’d definitely be in trouble.
“Miss Hasani… We weren’t talking about anything, just discussing some recent news online,” one of the employees stammered.
“Yes, there have been so many scandals in the entertainment industry recently. We were just taking a short break, but we’re getting back to work right away.”
They tried to turn back to their desks, eager to avoid making any more mistakes. Delilah clearly wasn’t someone to be trifled
with.
Delilah placed a hand on the girl’s shoulder. “Come with me. I have something to say to you.”
