The man next to us spat out his drink and burst into laughter. “Sorry! I’ve never seen anyone this bold before.”
The older man I was sitting on got a serious look on his face. He cupped my cheek with his large, calloused hand and gently turned my face to look at him.
His voice was deep and smooth, with a quiet authority that made my skin tingle. “Look closely. Do you even know who I am?”
I stared at him for a good while but couldn’t place him. His distinguished features, salt–and–pepper hair, and confident posture screamed power and experience. Getting with someone like him would be a total win.
I lifted my chin and teased, “Are you not into it? Is that why you won’t say yes? You look good for your age, but maybe you can’t back it up, huh?”
His eyes darkened. He ran a finger slowly over my lips, then leaned in, his breath hot in my ear. “Yo enough if I can back it up. And don’t say I didn’t warn you.”
I snorted and said loudly, “Bring it on. I won’t regret it!”

I was kind of dizzy when he led me into a
into a room and pushed me onto a king–sized bed. His kisses were intense and demanding, leaving me breathless, and before I knew it, my clothes were gone.
His body was strong, solid–those were hard–earned abs, not gym vanity. I couldn’t stop my hands from exploring him, and when he finally gave in, the air around us practically ignited.
The next day, I woke up to the sunlight streaming through the window. When I opened my eyes, the sun was shining right on the bed, and I was still in the arms of the naked guy.
My mind went blank for a second, and it took me a while to remember what happened last night.
This was probably the craziest thing I had ever done, and I felt a little weird about it at first. But then I remembered that photo of Jayvon and Jaslene kissing back in high school.
They had gotten involved with each other. There was no way my engagement to Jayvon was gonna work out. So why should I feel nervous?

Chapter 7 We’ll Meet Again
Once we broke
up,
I could date whoever I wanted. There was nothing to be nervous about.
I looked up at the guy’s chiseled, good–looking face and had to swallow hard. He was seriously cute.
Why did he look so familiar, though? Like I had seen him somewhere before.

But all hot guys pretty much looked alike, so it was normal to think he looked familiar. Maybe I came across him in some random short video.
I sat up in bed and realized I was sore all over. The clothes scattered from the doorway to the bed reminded me of how wild last night had been.
I got dressed and glanced at the guy in the bed again. The more I looked at him, the more he seemed like a hired guy. I meant, his skills last night were…well, really good.
He did me a favor, so I needed to pay him.
I took the last 150 dollars I had in my wallet and left it on the nightstand, right where he’d see it when he woke up.
he’d know I wasn’t taking advantage of his looks and skills for free.
That way,
I was about to leave after dropping the money when the guy in the bed suddenly opened his grabbed my wrist,
and stared at me with his deep, intense eyes.
He glanced at the money, frowned, and said with obvious anger, “Why are you giving
I quickly got my cool back and said, “I slept with you. Shouldn’t I pay you for that?”
The guy was taken aback for a moment, then laughed in disbelief. “You think I’m a hired guy?”
I looked at him again. He had a special aura, and he didn’t seem like the type. So I asked directly, “Aren’t you?”

His face darkened, and he slowly tightened his grip on my wrist. Then he suddenly rec
run his fingertips over the base of my thumb in a way that felt way too intimate.
He didn’t deny it. Instead, he whispered, “We’ll meet again.”
We slept together last night, but his touch now made my face feel all hot and flustered.
id haughtily, “We’ll. I might come back for you when I’m feeling lonely.”
