As soon as I arrived at the company.
I immediately threw all the matters with Adrian to the back of my mind, fully immersing myself in work.
After successfully concluding a morning of work, I was very happy and bought milk tea for everyone in my team.
The new intern, Jake, was the first to rush out and take the milk tea, then he scratched my palm.
“Congratulations, sis, today’s milk tea is especially sweet…”
I uncomfortably withdrew my hand, frowning and about to speak, when I unexpectedly met a gaze through the glass door-
Adrian stood in formal attire in the shadowy corridor, holding a thermal lunch box.
His eyes were dark, his face expressionless.
Who knows how long he had been standing there watching.
I was a bit surprised to see him: “A-Adrian? Why are you here?”
Adrian shifted his gaze from Jake to meet my eyes, slowly curling his lips into a smile that sent chills down my spine:
“Honey, I’ve come to bring you lunch.”
He bit out this intimate term of endearment clearly and loudly.
It caused quite a stir in the quiet office.
My breath caught.
This term of endearment in my memory was always accompanied by the dim light of the
bedroom.
Under the light.
Adrian would press against my collarbone, his eyes misty with desire.
His sweat-dampened hair lightly brushing my chin.
His breathing becoming more and more urgent.
Only then would this hoarse whisper escape from his throat, uncontrollably.
But today he called it out loudly in front of everyone, which he used to resist the most.
A subtle electric current instantly ran up my back, my heart trembling violently.
Today’s Adrian seemed quite different from usual.
Jake raised an eyebrow slightly, the corner of his mouth lifting in a meaningful smile: “So
it’s Mr. Adrian. Olivia always mentions you to me.”
Adrian calmly lifted his lips: “Is that so? Olivia has never mentioned you to me.”
Jake’s expression immediately became very unpleasant. In front of Adrian, he was like a helpless young boy with no ability to fight back.
Adrian ignored the change in his expression, looking down at this presumptuous youngster from above, a hint of a smile on his lips, as if looking at some inferior trash.
“I should thank you for taking care of my wife. Would you like a cigarette?”
As Adrian spoke, he reached into his pocket for cigarettes.
I was still puzzling over when he had started smoking.
But the next second, I saw him pull out a very eye-catching red object-not cigarettes,
but our marriage certificate.
Married for six years.
Yet he had kept this marriage certificate as if it were brand new.
Only the edges were slightly faded.
As if it had been constantly held and rubbed in someone’s hands over the
years.
Adrian carelessly tilted his hand.
The marriage certificate made a beautiful arc in his palm.
Turning towards Jake’s direction to reveal the golden seal.
His tone carried deliberate trouble.
“I’m sorry, I took out the wrong thing. I accidentally pulled out our legal proof of
marriage…”

Jake clenched his fists, his mouth twitching speechlessly, probably wanting to curse.
But as soon as he met Adrian’s darkened eyes, he instantly deflated, stiffly turning his face away, even his breathing becoming quieter.
Obviously, in the face of Adrian’s absolute authority, his anger could only rot in his
<
stomach.
My face had been burning since Adrian inexplicably pulled out the marriage certificate.
I hurriedly blocked him, snatching the marriage certificate and hastily hiding it in a compartment of my bag.
“Adrian, why did you take out the marriage certificate? Don’t stand here for everyone to see, quickly come with me to the office.”
As I finished speaking, the composure on Adrian’s face instantly shattered, his hand still maintaining that suspended posture.
He looked down at me, his eyes intertwining despair, resentment, and unwillingness.
I looked at his face, drained of blood.
Inappropriately, a phrase came to mind-a desperate husband.
