Chapter 2
Her eyes scanned the room, finally landing on my urn in the corner. She stepped past Liam and picked it up, plastering a sickeningly sweet smile on her face:
“Sweetie, is this urn some kind of prop you and your mom bought for your little game?”
“It looks so realistic.”
Liam immediately scrambled up and lunged toward her:
‘Don’t touch my mother!”
Audrey pretended to lose her balance, letting the urn slip from her hands. It crashed to the floor, cracking open, with my ashes scattering everywhere:
‘Oh my! How lifelike! There’s actually something inside.”
‘Mom!”
Liam cried out, desperately trying to gather my ashes with his small hands.
But the alley floor was wet with filthy water, making it impossible for his tiny fingers to collect the
remains.
Audrey let out a cold snort and deliberately stepped on my ashes:
‘Sorry, Liam. Auntie didn’t mean to do that.”
‘If you and your mom really want to play this little game, I can buy some baby formula to put inside
later. Would that work?”
Liam bit his lip hard and rammed his head into her stomach:
“Give me back my mom! Give her back!”
Caught off guard, Audrey fell backward:

Chapter 2
“Julian, it hurts so much…”
She whimpered tearfully, clutching her stomach while looking weakly at Julian.
Seeing this, Julian anxiously shoved Liam aside and rushed to embrace her.
But he pushed with such force that Liam stumbled and crashed his leg against the wall. I heard the sickening crack of his bone breaking.
I’d thought spirits couldn’t feel heartbreak, but witnessing my son’s suffering, I wept tears of anguish.
If I’d known before my death what my son would endure, I would have fought with every ounce of strength to crawl back to him from those men at the club.
But now it was too late…
Liam ignored his pain, his face flushed with anger as he shouted at her:
“Stop your acting, you bad woman!”
Julian, furious, grabbed Liam and tried forcing him to kneel before Audrey:
‘Apologize. Now.”
Liam bit his lip, staring defiantly at Julian:
‘Never. She ordered people to kill my mother.”
‘You claim to be my father, so why are you defending her instead of me?!”
His voice broke as he screamed, tears streaming down his small face.
When he was younger, he would ask me wistfully where his father was.
I never lied to him, telling him the truth instead.
After that, he never asked about it again.
I knew he was trying not to upset me, and I understood that despite everything, he was just a child

who longed for a father–but not like this!
My transparent spirit wrapped tightly around my son as I glared at Julian:
“You bastard. You don’t have the first clue how to be a father.”
Yet Julian couldn’t hear me, nor did he soften at my son’s tears.
He stared coldly at Liam, scooping up my ashes mixed with dirty water and forcing them into my
son’s mouth:
“If you’re going to put on an act, at least be convincing. No body, just some powdered milk to trick
me.”
“You said these are Vivian’s ashes, right? Then eat them–you can be with your mother forever that
way.”
Liam was terrified, choking and coughing uncontrollably.
But Julian’s expression remained cold:
“I left home for seven years because of your mother, disappointing Audrey. Now I’m making it up to
her.”
“You will treat her with absolute respect. No insults.”
Liam raised his head, eyes burning with hatred:
“I will never apologize to the person who murdered my mother!”
Julian frowned, about to press further, but Audrey grew nervous and quickly intervened:
“That’s enough. Liam’s just a misguided child. I don’t blame him. Don’t push him anymore.”
Julian stroked her head tenderly:
“You’re always so understanding.”
He then forced Liam into the car, ignoring his struggles:

“Once you’re home, Vivian will definitely show up.”
