Chapter 30
Liam woke up and said he didn’t want to be covered in tubes.
He transferred to Serenity Ward.
He couldn’t eat anything anymore, not even a grain of rice, would be vomited out as a pool of black blood.
I always heard people say.
The person left, they couldn’t walk on an empty stomach.
So, I kept thinking that Liam should eat something.
But later he stopped eating, so I didn’t force him anymore.
Liam was mostly unconscious, his six–foot–three frame curled up on the hospital bed, in too much pain to even sit up.
When he was occasionally sober, he always liked me to push him outside.
to sunbathe.
He loved cleanliness and had a caregiver wipe his body for him every day.
When he fell asleep every day, I would sit by his bed and talk to him about our past.
As for those unhappy things in the past, I don’t want to mention them again.
Liam really spent the New Year with me.
That night, he miraculously felt much better.
He even managed to force himself to order a plate of dumplings.
He said, “After a year has passed, it’s always necessary to eat some dumplings to consider it complete.”
He said, “Gabriella, I hope the rest of your life goes smoothly.”
I suddenly choked up a bit, but still held his hand and said, “Okay, I’ve got it all down.”
The clock struck midnight.
Fireworks were being set off outside the hospital, and a smile slowly crept onto his lips.
His voice was very soft: “Gabriella, I’m sorry.”
“Forget me.
I stared out of the window blankly, tears falling uncontrollably like beads off a broken string.
I didn’t want him to see me sad, so I didn’t turn around.
But little did he know that he would never make another sound again.
When I turned back after wiping away my tears, the heart rate monitor had already become a flat line.
At that moment, I realized that no matter how much mental preparation I
had done.
At this moment, I still couldn’t accept it.
I was speechless.

Chapter 30
But she still accompanied her mother to take care of his affairs.
According to Liam’s wishes, his ashes were all scattered into the sea, he did not want a tombstone.
He said, if you don’t think about it, you won’t remember.
If you don’t remember, you won’t feel sad.
He was afraid that his Gabriella would be upset for him.
When we arrived at the funeral parlor, it was truly time to push him into the cremator.
I suddenly let out a heart–wrenching scream, “Liam, can’t you just spend some time with me?”
One after another.
On the large screen in the waiting area of the funeral home, the entire screen filled with elderly people in their seventies and eighties.
W
Only Liam’s name shone brightly-
Furnace No. 3: Liam, 23 years old.
My heart tightened again.
After the cremation, her mother held the urn in her arms.
She did not cry, she was very calm.
She just kept shouting around, “Liam, Mommy is taking you home, Liam, come home with Mommy…”
She was thinking at the moment.
BO LIN
When he was brought back home from the hospital, she was shouting like
that too.
“Good boy, we’re home with mom!”
I stood on the side, feeling somewhat helpless.
Liam.
The damn person should have been me, right?
I never thought that Liam would become someone in my memory.
He would become a photo hanging on the wall.
I thought, maybe by tomorrow, when I wake up, I will be able to forget about him.
The day after tomorrow, I thought again that perhaps the day after tomorrow I would be able to forget about him.
It wasn’t until a long, long time later that I realized.
His appearance has slowly blurred in my memory.
The moment I truly realized that I had forgotten about him, I started to
feel afraid again, afraid that I would actually forget him.
So every day, she would take out his photo.
Gabriella, oh Gabriella.
Even if the whole world forgets him, you cannot forget.
