Terence turned to see Cecilia holding a knife. He vaguely remembered her as my best friend.
He gave her a faint smile and said, “Hello.”
After seeing his face clearly, Cecilia’s tone grew harsher. “You bastard, why are you still here? Wasn’t killing Ariana enough? Are
you trying to take her last remaining assets?”
Terence realized he was misunderstood. He spoke up helplessly. “It’s not like that. I just wanted to take a look.”
Cecilia snorted coldly. “So, have you seen enough? Now get out. I’m sure Ariana wouldn’t want you here.”
Terence didn’t argue. He felt she was right.
He lowered his head and pleaded, “Can I take a set of her clothes with me? I want to build her a cenotaph.”
Cecilia remained silent for a moment, her expression unreadable as she looked at Terence.
“Fine,” she finally replied.
Terence looked up, searching for the most suitable set. His eyes landed on a set by the bed.
He remembered that the weather had suddenly turned chilly a few days ago. That short–sleeved shirt and shorts were probably
what I’d just taken off before going out.
He gingerly picked them up. They still held a faint trace of my scent.
A rare smile appeared on Terence’s face. He decided this was the one.
My tombstone was placed in Terence’s backyard.
His reasoning was simple. It would be easy for him to clean every day, and he could see me constantly.
However, Bethany was stunned when she saw the inscription on the gravestone. She demanded loudly, “Beloved Wife of Terence Bowen? If Ariana was your wife, then who am I? Terence, think clearly! You love me, not her!”
Bethany grew angrier by the second and stormed over to tear down the tombstone. However, Terence roughly seized her.
She met his murderous gaze.
“Try touching it and see what happens.”
. Bethany had never seen him like this. She trembled and wailed in grievance. “What’s wrong with you? You’re yelling at me
because of her! Are you serious? Did you actually fall for her? Weren’t you only dating her to get revenge because she took my
scholarship?”

At the mention of the scholarship, Terence’s anger flared even more.
“You’ve never had to worry about money or scholarships. Ariana was different. She was truly poor. Without that money, she
would have died…”

Bethany didn’t understand and scoffed. “Oh, please. It was barely the price of a pair of socks for me. You seriously…‘
She meant to say “lashed out at me for her“. However, she didn’t finish her sentence as Terence slapped her across the face.
It was the first time she’d ever been hit in her life. Bethany, in complete disbelief, lashed out at Terence with her long, clawing
nails. “How dare you hit me! I’m going to kill you!”
However, the strength difference between men and women was obvious. Terence quickly restrained her.
The sound of her bone snapping echoed in the garden.
Bethany cried out in pain. “My hand! My hand is broken!”
He spoke coldly. “I remember you used that left hand to cut the rope back then. If I can’t send you to hell to meet her, then I’ll
make sure your left hand can’t hurt anyone else.”
She broke out in a sweat from the pain.
Terence shoved her aside and said, “Someone get her out of here. She’s not allowed to come here again.”
He tuned out her cries, standing before my grave with his head bowed. “Consider that a little revenge for you. I hope you’re
enjoying the show from down
there.”
