My uncle asked me to bring something to the
golf course. When I got there, he introduced
me to Brent.
“Hey, Brent, what a coincidence.”
My uncle’s intentions were obvious. “Sugar
Plum, you and Brent used to be so close.”
Soon after, my uncle left.
Brent and I sat down in the golf club cafe.
He ordered my usual coffee, with the right
amount of sugar and milk, and stirred it
gently.
く
“I’m sorry about my uncle,” I said.
“Are you gonna get married?” He asked.
He was the only one who didn’t call me hey
there, he was so self aware and mature.
I took a sip of my coffee. “I’m thinking about
it.”
I couldn’t drive my car home. My uncle had
done something to it.
I sighed. Brent offered me a ride.
In the car, his phone rang. He answered it.
A sweet voice came over the line. “Brent, I
passed my thesis! I’m so happy!”
Brent smiled softly. “Good.”
“Thanks for helping me with the practice
project. I want to take you to dinner, but I
can’t afford to. But… There’s this noodle
shop near my school that’s so good. Want to
try it? Can’t beat it!”
Her playful words were so cheerful.
Brent’s face softened, and he said gently,
“Sure, you pick the place.”
“Yay! It’ll be unforgettable!”
OMG, she’s so cute! She reeled in a big fish!
A rich CEO and a sweet girl is so cliche, but I
love it!
It’s not cliche! He didn’t just spoil the female
lead and help her slap people in the face. He
used to be like puppy in front of the former
female lead, but the other female lead got to
him!”
I watched him hang up and said, “You can
drop me off here.”
“Has everything changed? I can’t even
remember what it used to be like,” Brent said.
I nodded. “Nothing stays the same. It’s okay
to move on.”
He smiled and nodded. “Brianna makes my
life colorful.”
He’s like a CEO from a novel.
