Chapter 4
Grayson and Ivy holding hands, strolling down the street like a couple.
One of the people with them was teasing: “Ivy, finally decided to let us meet your boyfriend after hiding him for three years, huh?”
Grayson smiled charmingly and said apologetically: “Sorry about that–work’s been crazy. Haven’t had much time to hang out.”
“Ivy told me you guys have been really good to her. Anything you want today, it’s all on me.”
Three years ago.
Ivy was still in college back then.
So they’d been together way longer than I thought. No wonder Grayson had fought so hard to bring her into the company.
One of my team members angrily kicked her chair, and the noise caught Grayson’s attention.
He turned around and saw me, immediately dropping Ivy’s hand in panic: “What are you doing here?”
I let out a cold laugh: “So, this is your ‘normal boss–employee relationship‘?”
Grayson looked guilty for a split second, then remembered we were in cold war and raised his voice: “I’m just helping her put on a little act for her friends! You’re too stupid to get that, and now you’re yelling at me?”
“And what about you? It’s the middle of the workday, and you’re slacking off. Don’t you have any respect for me as your boss?”
“You and your whole team are getting your pay docked!”
Ivy spent every day following him around, skipping work with zero consequences, but he was ruthless with us.
I smiled: “Oh, I forgot to mention–my whole team quit.”
“Have fun with your little playdate. We’re done here.”
Grayson looked stunned, then raised an eyebrow skeptically: “What kind of game are you playing now? Playing hard to get?”
“I’m busy working. I don’t have time for your drama!”
He was certainly busy.
Busy dating Ivy, busy entertaining her college friends, busy punishing me.
Ivy tugged on Grayson’s sleeve, stirring up trouble: “Gray, she’s obviously showing you zero respect as her husband.”
“Quitting is one thing, but taking the company’s top performers with her? She’s trying to destroy you.”
Her friends chimed in: “Exactly! Ivy’s so much better–young, gorgeous, and actually loyal. At least she won’t stab you in the back.”
“Ivy told us Celeste Warner’s just sitting back while Ivy does all the work. Honestly, you should’ve let someone like that go ages ago.”
“A deadweight like that? Dude, you should divorce her ASAP. Ivy’s perfect for you.”
Listening to these people encourage him and trash me, Grayson–who knew the truth–didn’t say a word to defend me. Instead, he sighed:
“Celeste, for the sake of our marriage, I’m giving you one last chance.”
“Just apologize and hand over that contract to Ivy, and I’ll let you keep your director position. Otherwise…”
Otherwise, he’d divorce me.

Chapter 4
He didn’t say it out loud, but I could read it in his expression. After all these fights, I knew his patterns by heart.
In the past, whenever he made that face, I’d panic and beg him not to say those two words.
But now?
t cheerfully pulled out my divorce decree and tossed it in front of him: “No need. We’re already divorced.”
