“The north wind.”
Ronan rolled his eyes and said, “Your mind works in such mysterious ways.”
“The weather forecast today was for a north wind of three to four.”
Devan pushed open the door to the ward as he spoke.
Ronan thought Devan’s action of pushing the door open directly was rude, so he knocked on the door twice.
Jennifer heard the door open and happened to see two people walk in, one in front and one behind.
Marcel was a big shot in the business world after all, so Devan didn’t come empty–handed. But after handing over the condolence gift to Jennifer, he casually produced a bright red rose.
“No stamen.”
Devan smirked, with a hint of sophistication and a touch of nonchalance.
Ronan was standing next to me, looking greasy no matter how you looked at him.
Jennifer took the flowers, but she was also a bit puzzled.
“Thanks, actually… you can also give me something other than flowers.”
“For example, what do you like?”

“Apple.”
Ronan interrupted and handed Jennifer a big, red apple.
Jennifer doesn’t have any special preference for fruits. It’s just that last time she was in the hospital, there were apples in the ward. Ronan helped her peel them, and she ate all those apples. So Ronan thought she really liked eating apples.
Surrounded by Devan and Ronan, Jennifer felt awkward.
It wasn’t her who needed visiting when she was sick, so Devan brought her flowers and Ronan brought her fruits.
Jennifer subconsciously glanced at Marcel lying on the hospital bed.
Marcel had a kind smile on his face.
“My daughter–in–law is very popular!”
Ronan was stunned.
He almost forgot that Jennifer and Brayan hadn’t divorced yet!
“She soon wasn’t your daughter–in–law anymore.”
Devan had just finished speaking when Jennifer yelled at him, and Ronan’s expression instantly changed.
Devan pushed his gold–rimmed glasses, looked at Jennifer, and then looked at Ronan.
“What’s wrong? Wasn’t what I said true?”
Jennifer opened her mouth, speechless.
Devan was speaking the truth.

No matter what, you shouldn’t have said that in front of Marcel, the elder.
Jennifer blamed Devan, and Devan just shrugged it off
“Don’t blame Devan, he didn’t say anything wrong. Blame Brayan for his bad luck.”
Seeing the frown on Marcel’s face, Jennifer was afraid that Marcel would be upset again.
“Hey grandpa, where’s Brayan? Haven’t seen him around these days.”
“Brayan was developing a new project with us, the Harding Group!”
Devan’s words shocked Ronan.
“How could Brayan be with you? They would fight.”
“It’s already started.”
Devan squinted his eyes and deliberately glanced at Jennifer.
Jennifer knew that Devan was referring to the last time Brayan was drugged by someone.
“Why can’t you say something nice in front of Grandpa?”
Ronan couldn’t help but snap at Devan.
Devan either told Marcel that Brayan was about to divorce Jennifer or that Brayan got into a fight.
Ronan thought Devan/had really low emotional intelligence.
“I was just talking about good things!” Devan’s sarcast smirk on his face made it hard to tell if he was being sincere at all.

Chapter268
“If it wasn’t for the fight last time, Brayan wouldn’t have given Pleania’s land to us, the Harding Group.”
“What?!” Ronan was shocked, “Pleania gave you that piece of land? I thought Brayan said it was for Cata…”
Ronan covered his mouth just in time.
Talking about Catalina here is like opening a can of worms.
His emotional intelligence is not as low as Devan’s.
“Brayan insisted on repaying me a favor, but he didn’t agree to the conditions I proposed. In the end, he gave up the piece of land in Pleania.”
