“Do you also believe I’m that kind of person?”
My question brought a momentary silence to the room.
“Audrey, we gave you a chance…” My mom cried, “Chloe presented the evidence… we….. we’re so disappointed in you!”
My dad, Richard, turned his head away, his face etched with sorrow, unable to look at me.
“See? A true monster, even her parents disown her!”
“What a monster hiding in plain sight. After doing something like that, the Stevens family should never have taken her back!”
“She absolutely cannot be allowed to practice medicine again!”
The malicious whispers filled my ears. I stood under the spotlight, isolated and helpless, like a criminal already condemned by the whole world.
Just then, several uniformed police officers entered the hall. Their expressions were serious, their voices loud. “We received a report about intentional poisoning. Who called it
in?”
Everyone’s eyes landed on me. Even Dylan and Chloe couldn’t help but let a smirk tug at their lips.
In the police officers’ sharp gaze and the deathly silence of the entire room, I calmly raised my hand.
“Officers.”
“I made the call.”

For a moment, time in the entire conference hall seemed to stand still.
Everyone looked at me as if I were insane. Calling the police on myself? What kind of
move was that?

Chloe and Dylan’s smiles completely froze. My parents’ faces also showed expressions of
disbelief.
I ignored their shock and turned to the police, then my gaze swept across the room, my
voice calm and clear.
“I am formally reporting that my sister Chloe, my ex-boyfriend Dylan, and TheraMed Innovations are involved in a conspiracy to systematically poison me and attempt to steal my patented technology.”
My words pushed the chaos in the room to a new peak.
“You’re lying!” Chloe shrieked. “You’re the one who poisoned me! The evidence is
irrefutable!”
“I harmed you?” I let out a cold laugh and requested the director to retrieve the data. “Don’t rush. I suggest we all take a look at the surgery recording together. Let everyone see how Dylan, this ‘new god, truly performed his miracle.”
Seeing me suddenly turn the tables on him, Dylan’s face turned ashen.
He pointed at me, accusing, “Audrey Stevens, how long are you going to be stubborn?! Is
one person’s life not worth more than this ‘Hand of God’ title you’re clinging to?!”
I ignored his deliberate attempts to mislead. Under the police’s supervision, a complete surgical recording was quickly projected onto the large screen.
The footage was clear, the operation fluid. I watched quietly until the video reached the most critical part: the tumor dissection.

I extended my finger and pointed at the screen. “Stop.”
“Everyone, look here,” I pointed to the time code in the bottom right corner of the screen. “From 12 minutes and 03 seconds to 12 minutes and 06 seconds, there’s a 3.5-second
section that’s frame-skipped.”
“Dylan,” I turned my head, looking at him coldly. “Can you explain what happened during those missing 3.5 seconds?”
Dylan’s face had turned a deathly gray. “Frame skip? It might be a data transmission
issue! That proves nothing!” He still tried to talk his way out of it.
Chloe also chimed in weakly, “Audrey, Dylan did his best to save me. How can you accuse
him like this?”
The comments in the live stream also started to waver.
“It does seem a bit choppy, but what could happen in 3 seconds?”
“Even top hackers can’t get into a hospital’s internal network, can they? Audrey Stevens is thinking too much.”
“Exactly, she’s resorting to mysticism just to prove herself.”
I watched their last struggles, the curve of my lips growing colder.
“Equipment malfunction?” I chuckled softly. “Alright, since you think the equipment isn’t
reliable, then let’s look at something absolutely trustworthy.”
I took a USB drive from my handbag and handed it to the backstage staff. “This is a gift
from me to all of you.”
Everyone looked at me in confusion. Soon, the image on the large screen switched. It
was a completely new perspective.
The footage seemed to come from inside the operating table, capturing every detail under the scalpel from an ultra-close, high-precision angle.
It was a hundred times clearer than the hospital’s official recording, even showing the pulsation of every tiny blood vessel.
“What… what is this?” someone exclaimed.
