After that day, Ashley didn’t come home. Mom, Dad, and I were glad she was gone.
But Ashley was still Ashley. After slapping Blake in public and smashing his Maybach, she thought of an even worse plan.
She knelt in front of the Sterling family home in the rain, saying that Blake had taken her virginity and demanding that he come out and see her.
Even if Blake hadn’t slept with her, everyone knew that rich families were pretty messed up. No one would try to get attention over something like that.
Normally, they could give her some money to get rid of her.
But that day was Blake and his fiancée Jennifer’s engagement party.

Jennifer laughed. Her good upbringing gave her a gentle aura, but her every move showed her strength.
“You’re saying that I was having an affair with your fiance, so can you tell me when it happened and where?”
Blake hurried forward.
Ashley spoke before Blake could: “Yesterday, at the motel next to Town Square.”
When she said that, everyone around them looked disgusted.
She didn’t even know how to lie.
Mom, Dad, and I were on the outskirts of the crowd. We looked at each other and shook our heads.
Jennifer grinned and looked at the Sterling family’s patriarch who sat high up and hadn’t said a word: “Grandpa, if I remember correctly, Blake went on a business trip with you yesterday and came back this morning.”
When the Sterling patriarch heard Jennifer’s voice, his face relaxed and he even smiled a little.
He nodded to show that what Jennifer said was right.
Ashley panicked: “I… I remembered wrong. It was the day before! Blake and I were together the day before!”
Jennifer scoffed: “I didn’t know that Blake had a twin brother. He was with me the night before, so how did he end up having sex with you at a motel?”
The Sterling patriarch’s eyes lit up.
Ashley didn’t know what to say.
