Two days later, Yannick finally recovered.
Piles of Samantha’s belongings were stacked up in the living room.
Wearing high heels, Samantha clung desperately to Leonard’s arm. Her meticulously manicured nails nearly dug into his skin.
“Leonard, you can’t treat me like this!” she cried. Her voice was thick with tears, and her eyes were filled with overwhelming regret. “We’ve known each other for 20 years. Are you really doing this over something so trivial?”
Leonard flung her hand off him, and he looked at her coldly. “Trivial? Do you call abusing my children a trivial matter?”
He pulled out his phone and played a surveillance video.
On the screen, Samantha was viciously pinching Yvonne’s thigh. The little girl was crying in pain but didn’t dare to make a sound.
“And this.” He swiped to another video, showing Samantha pouring sleeping pills into the children’s milk. “I can’t believe you drug them just so they’d fall asleep early for the sake of attending your parties.”
Samantha’s face turned deathly pale. “You were spying on me? Did you ever trust me at all?”
“I was watching my house,” Leonard replied in a dangerous tone.
At that moment, a female staff member suddenly rushed forward and said with a trembling voice, “Mr. Faron! I have something to say!”
She pointed a shaking finger at Samantha, not bothering to hide the disgust on her face. “From the first time she visited this house, she’s been driving a wedge between Mrs. Faron and the children!”
“You’re lying!” Samantha shrieked.
“I’m not!” The staff mustered up the courage and continued, “She would buy snacks and toys for the kids when Mrs. Faron isn’t around, and taught them to talk badly about her! I heard her tell Mr. Yannick with my own ears that Mrs. Faron doesn’t let him eat candy because she doesn’t love him.”
She said, “She even said that they could only truly be together if the children helped drive Mrs. Faron away. That’s why Mr. Yannick pushed Mrs. Faron down the stairs the next day!”
Leonard’s expression darkened even further. He turned to Neil and ordered coldly, “Pull up the footage from that day.”
When the video played on the screen, the entire living room fell dead silent.
On screen, the two children could be seen with sinister smiles on their faces as they pushed Jennifer down the stairs.
Right after that, Samantha entered with Leonard, and her delighted, triumphant expression was impossible to miss.
Yvonne suddenly ran down from the stairs, throwing herself into his arms with tearful cries. Dad, we were wrong. We want Mom to come back…”
Yannick followed behind with a tear–streaked face. “Aunt Sam said Mom doesn’t want us anymore. Is that true?”
Samantha let out a cold laugh. “Of course it’s true. She doesn’t want you anymore, and she’s probably in some other man’s arms right now.”

Samantha added, “Leonard, did you know? That contract you signed the other day wasn’t some purchase agreement. It was a divorce agreement from Jennifer. You no longer have anything to do with her! You were the one who drove her away!”
A sharp slap cut off her venomous words.
He instructed Neil, “Throw out all her things. Make sure she doesn’t get a single thing I bought for her.”
Clutching her face, Samantha stared at him in disbelief. “Leonard, are you insane? You’re doing all of this for that washed–up woman-
“Shut up!” Leonard snapped. His expression turned ice–cold. “One more word from you, and I’ll make sure you’ll never be able to survive in this city.”
Leonard’s hand hung mid–air, and his eyes burned with fury.
