As Vivienne spoke, her voice grew cold. “Sebastian, what gave you the confidence to say that?”
Sebastian’s eyes suddenly darkened.
She continued, “Sebastian, I don’t love you anymore. Signing those papers won’t bring me pain. It’ll be a relief instead.”
There was a faint smile on Vivienne’s lips, but her eyes held a cold, rebellious disdain.
“What you owe Melanie is your business. It has nothing to do with me. To me, she’s nothing more than the woman who tried to kill me. I don’t care if Mia’s her best friend or even her damn parents. I won’t let this go.”
Sebastian’s expression slowly chilled. At that moment, he suddenly understood something–Vivienne was not as easy to persuade as he had imagined.
“Vivienne, the footage from that witness you mentioned? I had it deleted.”
Hearing that, Vivienne didn’t react at first. It wasn’t until a while later that she gave a quiet, low laugh. “So you came today… just to inform me?”
“Vivienne, you know perfectly well that without my consent, no one can lay a finger on her.”
Vivienne’s fingers clenched, but she said nothing.
Sebastian stood up. “Get some rest. I’ll come pick you up when you’re discharged.”
Just as he turned to leave, he heard her ity voice behind him. “Sebastian, I will never let Mia get away with this.”
He paused for a moment, then walked out the door.
On the day she was discharged, Vivienne didn’t wait for Sebastian to pick her up. Instead, she had Jason come earlier to pick her up.
On the way back, Jason said, “I heard the footage from that witness was deleted due to Sebastian’s pressure. Vivienne… do you need my help?”
The law demanded proof. Without evidence, Vivienne’s accusation would only be seen as slander.
“No, I don’t,” she answered, leaning back with her eyes closed.
A gentle breeze drifted in through the car window, tousling her long hair into a beautiful mess.
“I’ll handle it myself.”
Seeing Vivienne so calm and determined, Jason didn’t press any further.
Later, a group of young women dressed in black cornered Mia in a restroom. They wore sunglasses and radiated grace and grit.
She had no idea what was happening, but her instincts told her that these women were trouble.
“What do you think you’re doing? Do you know who I am? Do you know who my best friend’s husband is? I’m warning you, if you so much as touch me, you won’t walk out of here in one piece!”

The leader of the women sneered in disdain. “Why don’t you tell us, then? Who are you? And who’s your best friend’s husband?”
Mia raised her chin high in arrogance.
“Listen carefully! I’m Mia Evans, the heiress of the Evanses. My best friend is Melanie, the woman who has Sebastian’s heart! And Sebastian? You must know him. He’s the current CEO of the Holt Group! Cross me, and your lives end today.”
The women in black exchanged glances and nodded slightly at one another.
“Looks like we found the right person.”
One of them suddenly grabbed Mia by the hair. “So it was you. The one who suddenly pushed our madam into the pool and almost drowned her, wasn’t it?” Mia didn’t know who their so–called madam was, but when she heard them mentioning the pool, she immediately understood.
