Chapter 8
As for Serena-1 gave her a cushy team leader role in a “high-security project.”
Made her sign an NDA. Told her it was classified.
But of course, she couldn’t help herself.
She had to show off on social media.
Bragging to friends. Posting videos. Flexing the paycheck.
And what was there to brag about, really?
She was making $50K just for filing reports. Didn’t even have to lift a finger.
Still, she flaunted it so hard, she caught the attention of one of Vortex Tech’s competitors.
I didn’t even need to act.
They went after her on their own.
And surprise, surprise-she sold out immediately.
Didn’t even hesitate. Took their offer like it was candy.
At first, they thought it was a trap.
They figured I must’ve planted her on purpose.
I mean, she was dating my boyfriend’s “good little sister.”
They did their homework.
Saw how tolerant I’d been of Corbin’s dumb mistakes.
Back then, I hadn’t been reborn yet-I still believed his lies.
So yeah, they believed it.
Dropped $100K for Serena to leak the “project.”
And I laughed.
Because that project?
Totally fake.
Of course, I called it confidential.
It’s my company-I say what’s real and what’s not.
