When I finally turned my phone back on, the news of my sister’s alleged suicide due to depression had already spread like wildfire across every platform.
The influencers were quicker than I was to catch the news. They had already started their livestreams, spinning tales about how my sister had single handedly raised me, her ungrateful younger sister, who turned out to be nothing but a spoiled trust fund brat. The comment sections were already flooded with insults directed at me.
Hailing a cab. I opened one of the livestreams to watch the scene of her death unfold in real time.
The coroner was the first to arrive at the mansion. Sophia showed up shortly after.
As I watched Sophia’s frantic demeanor, a question gnawed at me. If she had just arrived, how had she already sent me photos of the scene over an hour earlier? What was she, clairvoyant?

“It’s her sister who killed her. Claire didn’t commit suicide–it was all because of Ella!”

Sophia’s voice cracked with grief, her cries heartbreakingly raw. Her performance was flawless–a tragedy that

She even played a recording of a supposed call with my sister, further driving home her point:
“No matter how awful my sister treats me, I could forgive her for anything. But selling the company…that’s something I can’t get past is company was built with the money from Mom and Dad’s settlement–it’s the only thing they left me.”
“I’m tired. I’ve failed to hold onto the last thing Mom and Dad gave me. The sister I raised turned out to be a traitor. What’s left for me here? I’m going to join Mom and Dad.”
“My remaining assets… they’ll all go to my brother–in–law. He’s endured enough from my sister. Consider this my way of compensating him.”
