Chapter 10
Mom slapped Laila hard across the face.
“How dare you?” she screamed. “Zora’s your sister! How could you do that to her?”
Laila’s hand flew to her swollen cheek. Never in her life had anyone hit her like that.
She looked up at Mom, her eyes filled with hatred. “Who gets to decide she’s older than me? We’re twins! We look exactly the
same, so why is she better than me?
“Why did everyone love her more? If you only wanted her, then why did you even bother giving birth to me?”
Mom stood stunned, speechless.
“When did we ever mistreat you? Both your dad and I treated both of you equally. And after we misunderstood Zora, we doted on
you even more! What more could you possibly want?”
“Why should I be satisfied?” Laila retorted. “So what if I had your love? She still had Simon. Why did she deserve an amazing man
like him? Even without you two, she still had someone who loved her!”
Tugging at her hair, she screamed hysterically, “She should’ve died! Everything she had should’ve been mine! Simon should’ve
been mine!
“Once she’s dead, I can finally become his mate.”
Mom stumbled back, dazed.
“She’s gone mad…” she murmured. “Zora, my poor daughter… I’m so sorry!”
Her eyes rolled back, and then she collapsed.
Dad silently caught Mom in his arms. His presence grew imposing as he glowered at Laila and snarled, “From now on, Zora is my
only daughter. As for you, you’re disowned. Someone like you doesn’t deserve to be my daughter!”
As Laila watched Dad carry Mom away without even sparing her a glance, panic gripped her. She turned to Simon with a tearful
expression and said, “Simon, I’m sorry! It’s all my fault. Can you forgive me?
“I look just like Zora. You can pretend I’m her, okay?”
But then, Simon grabbed her by the throat and lifted her midair. Watching how her face turned purple from the lack of oxygen, he
said coldly, “You’re not even worthy of mentioning her name.
“Even when you turned me against her, I never once thought of breaking my mate bond with her. Do you think you can take her place with that pretentious face of yours?”
He pulled out a silver dagger and slashed it across her face. The silver poison stopped her healing, leaving her face marred with deep, ugly scars.

“You don’t deserve this face. You like scars, don’t you? Let me help you.”
Laila screamed, clutching her face in agony.

At the same time, Simon released the truth online about how Laila had become the top student at the Werewolf Academy by
copying all of Zora’s work.
The revelation rocked the school. Once confirmed, the academy swiftly expelled her.
Banished to the edge of the forest, Laila began experiencing rejection symptoms. It turned out that since my kidney had been
infected by wolfsbane, the poison was spreading through her body.
She finally felt the same burning agony I had endured over the past six months. The searing pain overwhelmed her, and in the
end, she was poisoned to death.
After regaining consciousness, Mom was never the same. She was often seen hugging a log, claiming it was me.
Later, Dad left the Lunaris pack with her. They said he took her far away to live on the grasslands.
Once everything was over, Simon had a crystal casket made for me and laid me to rest inside it. He chose to stay by my side every
single day, talking to me about our sweet memories.
But eventually, he would always break down in tears.
“Zora, I was wrong. If you could just look at me one last time…” he choked. “Or should I come find you?”
Just like that, he drove a silver dagger deep into his chest. The pain was excruciating, but he held it in and reached out to stroke
my face. “Zora, can you wait for me?”
“I’m sorry… I won’t wait for you,” I thought. “And if there’s a next life, I never want to see you again.”
