Chapter 8
One week later, the century wedding between the Foster family and the Adams family was held as scheduled.
Considering Emily’s pregnancy, the wedding ceremony was simplified.
Despite the reduced proceedings, the luxiny of the event still amazed the attending guests.
The room was filled with Juliet roses, which Daniel had specially planted for Emily ten years ago.
The entire ceiling was adorned with diamond crystals, custom–designed and ordered by Daniel for Emily.
Even the dishes served to the guests were specially ordered by a master chef, designed according to Emily’s preferences.
Every detail of the wedding reflected Daniel’s deep affection for Emily.
The guests couldn’t help but marvel, their words full of envy.
“Mr. Foster and Ms. Adams really have a great relationship. I heard they’ve been childhood sweethearts.”
“Exactly, I heard Mr. Foster almost lost his life to save Ms. Adams back then.”
“If I could marry someone like Mr. Foster, my life would be worth it…”
No matter how much the guests discussed Daniel and Emily’s love, Daniel paid no attention.
He was focused on his phone, his eyes full of hesitation.
Checking the time, Sarah should have arrived at the hotel last night.
But from last night until now, he hadn’t received a single call or message from Sarah.
After all, Sarah was someone her father had specifically entrusted him to look after before going abroad. If anything happened to Sarah, he wouldn’t know how to explain it to her father.
With that thought, Daniel sent Sarah a message. “How are you doing now?”
Just as the message was sent, the wedding manager knocked on his door.
“Mr. Foster, the wedding is about to begin. You can start your entrance preparation now.”
Daniel quickly placed his phone on the table and responded, “I’ll be right there.”
As Daniel closed the door, his phone, which hadn’t been turned off, suddenly lit up.
A bright red exclamation mark appeared next to the message he had sent.
Meanwhile, the sound of a soft piano filled the air.

At the end of the flower lined aisle, Daniel stood, his eyes filled with deep affection, watching Emily, dressed in white, walking slowly toward him.
She held up the long train of her dress, stepping gracefully toward him.
It should have been an exciting moment, but Daniel’s heart felt strangely calm.
As he watched Emily’s steps, for some reason, Sarah’s image suddenly flashed before his eyes.
She, too, had been in a white wedding gown, joyfully walking toward him with love in her eyes, calling his name sweetly.
“Daniel.”
“Daniel.”
The image of Sarah blurred with the figure of Emily as Emily waved her hand and called out to him, concerned.
“Daniel, what’s wrong?”
Snapping out of his thoughts, Daniel instinctively shook his head to rid himself of the image of Sarah.
A soft smile curved his lips as he replied, “It’s nothing. You look beautiful today.”
The sweet words made Emily blush ever so slightly, her ears tinged with pink.
The ceremony continued, and the priest began to read the vows, asking Daniel if he would take the woman before him as his wife.
It should have been an instant response, but Daniel paused for a moment, his gaze wandering from Emily’s expectant face to the guests, all waiting eagerly.
Finally, his eyes drifted toward the empty doorway.
A long time ago, Sarah had said that if he ever dared to marry another woman, she would show up and stop the wedding.
Daniel knew she wasn’t joking, which is why he had stationed many bodyguards at the door today to prevent her from crashing the wedding.
But now, halfway through the ceremony, the girl who had promised to interrupt the wedding still hadn’t shown up.
It should have been a relief, but Daniel couldn’t shake the feeling that something wasn’t right.
Could it be that Sarah, like she said, truly didn’t have feelings for him anymore?

At this thought, a flash of coldness appeareit in his eyes. He believed she was definitely playing hard to get.
Realising this be quickly pulled himself together, furned his attention back to the bride in front of him, and solemnly said each word clearly
Emily, whether post or rich, whether in health or sickness, I am willing to marry you as my wife and will never
His heartfelt confession made Emily’s eyes suddenly well up with tears. She responded to him with deep affection and kissed him passionately.
The wedding went exceptionally smoothly.
None of the things Daniel had worried about happened. The expected wedding–crashing event didn’t occur, and his bride seemed to be doing perfectly well without any discomfort.
Even his friends praised him, saying he seemed more careful and serious about the wedding than he ever had been.
But only Daniel knew that, in truth, he hadn’t been serious about this wedding at all.
A figure kept appearing in his mind, disturbing his thoughts.
While Emily went to her room to rest, Daniel had the butler bring him his phone.
When he saw the bright red exclamation mark in the chat box, Daniel’s body stiffened in place.
Over the years, no matter how much Sarah had caused trouble, she had never blocked him.
Daniel rubbed his forehead, then casually dialed the number.
As soon as the call connected, Daniel had already prepared his words. “Sarah, you….”
“We’re sorry, the number you have dialed is currently unavailable. Please try again later…”
“Bang!
Daniel slammed the phone down on the table in frustration.
But after all, she was Sarah’s father’s entrusted responsibility. If something really happened to her, he wouldn’t be able to explain it to Sarah’s father.
Thinking of this, Daniel dialed another number.
“Find out which city Sarah went to. Once you know, go directly to take care of her.”
That night, after Daniel had finally gotten Emily to sleep, there was a knock on the door.
After confirming that the person in his arms hadn’t been disturbed, Daniel quietly got out of bed.
But just as he was closing the door, Emily suddenly opened her eyes.
In the study, just a wall away. Daniel’s face suddenly darkened.
“Say it again where did she go?”
The assistant in front of him swallowed nervously. “We checked all travel records from New York, but we couldn’t find any trace of Ms. Miller.”
“Moreover, all of her domestic documents have been canceled…”
“We suspect that Ms. Miller has gone abroad… but as to where, we are unsure…”
“Sir, should we inform Mr. Miller? After all, she’s his daughter…”
Daniel was stunned by the assistant’s words, unable to say anything, as a wave of anger surged from his heart to his entire body.
He thought Sarah’s courage only extended to blocking him, but now she was secretly leaving the country behind his
back!
How dare she!
“Sarah…”
“Sir…”
Seeing Daniel remain silent, the assistant hesitantly called out to him again.
Daniel took a deep breath, forcing his anger down.
“Not for now. Keep searching.”
He refused to believe that Sarah would never return!
