Bastard 3

Chapter 3

Obviously Mom and Dad went to the clinic and confirmed the kid was Sophia’s, and that bastard Harold really did deliver the baby for her.

I just didn’t get why they were so hell-bent on dumping this on me.

“Mom, what’s this baby got to do with me? I didn’t pop him out!”

“Right now you should be hunting down baby daddy. Anyway, I’m at work. Gotta bounce!”

Hung up and went about my normal work day. That’s when my office buddy Diana came over: “Mia, got a man? Want me to hook you up?”

I was gonna say nah, but then changed my mind.

‘Yeah! Who you thinking, Diana?”

‘My nephew. He’s three years older, ex-military, runs his own little restaurant now!”

‘Wanna grab lunch today and meet him?”

said hell yes!

Diana was pumped and went off to call her nephew.

Last time around, when I was dead tired from raising that kid, Diana hooked me up with side gigs and kept telling me to find a

But I was too worried about the kid getting hurt to date anyone.

.ooking back, I was such a dumbass.

Met Diana’s nephew Marcus at lunch, and we totally clicked.

Swapped numbers and decided to take it slow.

When Diana asked how it went, I nodded: “Not bad. We’ll see.”

she was over the moon: “I’m telling you, if this works out, he’ll treat you like a queen. I watched that boy grow up-he’s solid!”

I blushed, which made Diana even more hyped.

So-Marcus and I started our relationship.

For two whole weeks, Mom and Dad didn’t hit me up, and I didn’t go home.

But then Mom actually showed up at my job.

I’m in the middle of work when security called: “Mia! Your mom just dumped your kid at our gate! Come get this baby-he’s screaming his head off.”

Wilbird!

Chapter 3

My brain started buzzing: “What kid? I’m not even married-where would I get a son? Don’t say crazy shit!”

Made sure to talk loud enough for the whole office to hear.

The guard was confused: “How the hell would I know? Just get down here and handle this!”

After I hung up, everyone was staring at me.

“What’s going on, Mia?”

“No clue. Security said some chick claiming to be my mom brought ‘my son’ here!”

Diana gasped: “Are you kidding me? That’s insane! Come on, let’s all go see this!”

“Yeah, is someone trying to pull a fast one on her?”

“Mia has a son? We never saw her pregnant!”

“Maybe she had it years ago. Who knows? Young people these days got such messy love lives!”

Hearing that, Diana gave me the side-eye.

I played totally clueless, so Diana couldn’t figure out what was really going down.

When we got to the security gate and saw that tiny newborn, everyone was shook.

Diana let out a huge sigh: “No way Mia had this baby. This kid looks like he’s not even a month old!”

“Exactly! Who’s evil enough to pull this? If it was like a five-year-old, Mia could never clear her name!”

“This is straight-up character assassination!”

I was cracking up inside.

Security guard shrugged: “Lady said she was Mia’s mom. How was I supposed to know?”

So, I had them pull up the security footage and turns out I had no clue who dropped off the baby.

Perfect-knew exactly what to do.

“Call the cops. That person isn’t my mom, and I have zero idea who they are!”

Everyone was hesitating, so I threw my hands up: “This is child abandonment! I work sales-I’ve handed out tons of business cards. God knows who’s pretending to be my family. I’m not raising some rando’s kid!”

That made total sense to everyone, so we called the police.

When the cops rolled up, they took the baby.

I also made sure to ask where they were taking him.

“Where else? If we can’t find the parents, he goes to foster care.”

Getting that confirmation was such a relief.

Chapter 3

This time around, I’m never raising that ungrateful little shit again!
