Chapter 4
That person was actually Martin.
In the surveillance footage, Martin was sneaking around my computer, checking that no one was nearby before quickly operating the keyboard, then swiftly leaving.
The surveillance timestamp showed it was exactly the day my email sent a resume to Verity Law Firm.
Martin clearly hadn’t expected me to actually have surveillance footage. Watching his face pressed close to the screen in the video, his face instantly turned bright red.
“Leah, what’s the meaning of this? I was just borrowing your computer to look up some information, and you secretly recorded me? This is an invasion of my privacy!”
Seeing his panicked state, I sneered: “I’m curious what kind of information required you to sneak back to the law firm at 1 AM and specifically use my computer?”
“I-”
I continued: “And that resume sent to Verity Law Firm in my name was sent out during the exact few minutes you were ‘borrowing’ my computer. Don’t you think that’s quite a coincidence?”

Chapter 4
Before Martin could respond, I once again presented the
evidence to everyone.
Lucky Draw
Martin’s face changed dramatically as he looked frantically toward Chloe.
The other colleagues present also sensed something was off and began whispering among themselves again.
“This whole thing looks really suspicious. Chloe predicted Leah would betray the firm, and Martin, as Leah’s boyfriend, immediately provided evidence, but the evidence turned out to be fake!”
“Looking at it this way, that resume was actually sent by Martin on Leah’s behalf. Could Martin be trying to frame Leah?”
“Isn’t Chloe supposed to be a reborn person? She must know the truth. Make her explain!”
“Yeah, Chloe, what’s really going on here? Who exactly is trying to betray the firm?”
Chloe was obviously panicking. She clearly hadn’t expected me to react so quickly and produce evidence, leaving her momentarily at a loss for how to refute it.
After a pause, she finally came up with an explanation: “Leah,
stop lying. You don’t only have this one computer-you could have easily used another computer to send the resume. Martin using your computer at that time was to confirm this resume!”
She raised her voice: “Martin was clearly checking your computer for the sake of the firm!”
After speaking, she confidently glanced at Martin, signaling him
to continue.

Martin immediately nodded vigorously, putting on a pained expression: “Leah, we’ve been together for so many years. As your boyfriend, I really couldn’t bear to watch you go astray. I originally wanted to help you, but I never expected you’d try to frame me. Since it’s come to this, I have nothing left to hesitate
about.”
He turned to Josh: “Mr. Green, with Leah’s abilities, you absolutely cannot let her leave the firm. But if you let her continue as a lawyer, there’s also the risk of her leaking information. So I suggest transferring her to another position.”
Josh had remained silent throughout, only looking at Martin when he heard this: “Transfer? What position do you want me to move her to?”
“Doesn’t our firm need a janitor? Let Leah do cleaning work. Only by ensuring she has no opportunity to access case files can we guarantee we won’t be betrayed.” Martin’s tone was natural,
as if he’d already thought through his answer.
Chloe couldn’t help but chuckle: “Leah, janitorial work really suits you. You can not only clean the firm’s facilities but also cleanse your dirty heart and rediscover your original intentions as a lawyer.”
I listened to Chloe’s words expressionlessly, then looked at Josh: “Mr. Green, are you sure you want to do this? Destroy my years of legal career based solely on a resume someone used to frame me?”
“I…” Josh hesitated slightly, glanced at Chloe, then nodded as if making a firm decision: “Leah, I can’t sacrifice the entire firm for one person. Starting tomorrow, you’ll be responsible for the firm’s cleaning work. Don’t touch any cases from now on.”
