Something in Kaden’s eyes seemed to
shatter bit by bit.
I looked at him and said:

“Please withdraw your troops. I’m begging you.”
Kaden stared at my face, silent and motionless, like a stone sculpture.
The soldiers behind him didn’t understand why their king was acting this way, so they too stood perfectly still.

“The problem isn’t feeding me grapes—it’s that you eat all the sweet ones and stuff the bad ones in my mouth…”
“What, you’re not satisfied?”
“Of course I’m satisfied. I, Rex, will support Ginger’s femme fatale career to the death.”
“Hehe.”

Granny Lee and Jade, standing guard at the door, also burst into laughter.
It was a bright and beautiful spring day.
