Chapter 6
“What did you call me?”
Kieran gripped my chin.
I couldn’t resist his strength and had to turn my face to meet his.
His burning breath brushed against my nose, so hot.
My eyelashes trembled, and my tender lips were kissed.
The kiss started gentle, but gradually became fierce and overwhelming.
“Did you miss me?”
His fingers gripping my jaw applied slight pressure.
Forcing me to part my lips slightly.
So he could kiss me more deeply.
‘Yes…”
My answer was muffled.
Kieran pressed further: “Miss who? Say it clearly.”
‘Miss Camden…”
My lips were suddenly bitten hard.
‘Cam-”
I stared at him with tears of pain and grievance.
But before I could get “Camden” out, I was silenced by an even deeper, more demanding kiss.
He gave me no room to breathe.
No chance to resist.
When I was completely overwhelmed and possessed by him, only then did he cup my face and wipe away the tears at the corners of my eyes with his thumb.
“Harper, I’m asking you one more time. What do you call me?”
I couldn’t help but sob.
“Big brother.”
“Big brother…”
Finally, I was floating on the highest cloud.
Kieran breathed heavily in my ear: “Do you like it when I treat you like this?”
I cried chokingly, wanting to shake my head, but was kissed into stillness.
I could only nod through my whimpers.
Only then did Kieran’s kiss gradually become gentle again.
“Then I’ll treat you like this every day from now on, okay?”
“It’ll hurt. That way is painful.”
“You never used to be so rough with me…”
Kieran pressed me against his chest: “Did I hurt you tonight?”
I instinctively shook my head.
Though he had been even more intense and fierce than that night, this time it really didn’t hurt at all.
“Then did it feel good?”
I suddenly bit my lip, my cheeks beginning to burn.
The body’s responses don’t lie.
I couldn’t deny that Kieran had given me pleasure that Camden never had.
Maybe it was because the thrill of the forbidden was more intoxicating.
Or maybe it was because I had never really liked Camden that much to begin with.
And now, I feared and despised him even more.
I slowly lifted my face in his arms.
Very quietly answered: “It felt good.”
The satisfied look in Kieran’s eyes suddenly blazed with renewed desire.
“Harper.”
He turned over and pressed me onto the bed again.
Against me, our fingers interlaced.
“From now on, only do this with me, okay?”
I giggled: “What are you talking about?”
“Of course only with you, Camden…”
“Don’t say that name.”
Kieran’s voice suddenly deepened.
I stared at him in bewilderment: “What’s wrong with you? You’re being so weird.”
But Kieran let go of my hands and gently covered my eyes.
“Harper, I really like it when you call me big brother.”
“Every time you call me big brother, I get especially excited.”
“Call me that from now on.”
I lifted my hand, trying to remove his hand covering my eyes.
But I touched an old scar on his hand between his thumb and forefinger.
In that instant, something flashed through my mind.
But I couldn’t catch it.
After a long while, I softly agreed: “Okay.”
‘Big brother.”
Kieran gave the servants at the estate time off.
He openly ate meals with me and walked in the garden.
At night, there was endless entanglement.
On the third evening, he drove me to the riverside.
We ate fresh river fish on a fishing boat.
I had quite a bit of fruit wine.
On the way back, I was too drunk to walk straight.
Kieran carried me on his back down from the boat.
When his fingers touched that old scar on my calf, he naturally asked: “How did you get hurt so badly on your leg?”
I lay on his back, drunkenly closing my eyes and murmuring.
“Met a little bully when I was a kid.”
“That guy was such a brat, his family was loaded.”
“All the other kids would circle around him, trying to please him.” –
“But not me.”
“The more I ignored him, the more he’d pester me.”
“But I wasn’t some spoiled rich kid with all that free time.”
“I had to help my parents with their food stall, take care of my little brother, wash diapers and feed him.”
“He annoyed me so much that I got into a fight with him.”
“I was little then, so of course I couldn’t beat a boy.”
“He pushed me down and I hit the flower bed, cut myself pretty bad and bled a lot.”
“But he didn’t get off easy either – I grabbed his hand and bit him hard.”
“Bit him real deep, my mouth was full of blood.”
“He had no backbone though, crying and wailing.”
As I talked, I started laughing.
“Actually he wasn’t that bad, just a bit spoiled.”
“Later he even brought me medicine, tried to make me feel better by saying my scar was shaped like a flower petal and looked pretty.”
Only then did Kieran ask softly.
“What happened after that?”
“Can’t remember. I think he left pretty soon after.”
“Probably got picked up by his parents.”
“I was so busy with chores back then, how could I remember all that stuff.”
After talking so much, I felt even dizzier.
Lying on Kieran’s back, drowsy with sleep.
“Harper.”
I heard him call my name.
He seemed to say something else after that.
But I didn’t hear it.
