Chapter 10 You Can’t Frame Me
“Did Jayvon do something wrong and hurt your feelings?
“Bree, calm down. I’ll get him over here to apologize to you right now!”
With that, Pablo was about to go inside to get Jayvon.
I immediately stopped him. “Sir Sawyer! Please hear me out!”
It all happened so fast. I loved Jayvon dearly before, but now I hated him just as much.
Since Pablo had seen how Jayvon and Jaslene got along, I figured I should explain everything to him. I was about to tell him the whole story
hayvon showed up out of nowhere and interrupted me with a smile.
“Grandpa, here’s the thing. I’ve been busy lately and couldn’t make it with Bree to pick out an engagement ring. She’s upset and acting out a bit. Don’t mind her, please.”
He tried to put his arm around my waist, but I quickly dodged it.
He was totally lying through his teeth. He cheated, but now it was like it was my fault.
“No, it’s not like that…”
“I know you don’t like the first drafts Karina showed you. I’ll have her redo them until you’re happy. Okay?”
Jayvon was putting on a show of comforting me while he said to Pablo, “Grandpa, I’ve got a famous designer from Aeloria to make it up to Bree. I won’t let her down.”
Pablo adored me, and he couldn’t stand Jaslene. If I were to tell him the truth, Jayvon would suffer bitterly.
He was scared of getting punished by Pablo, but even more afraid that Jaslene would get sent away again. He leaned over and whispered in my ear, “Grandpa isn’t feeling well. Don’t stir up trouble. Let’s talk this through privately. I’ll do whatever you want.”
He was thinking a little too highly of himself.
With a sneer, I pushed him away hard and shot him a cold look. “Don’t act like I’m the unreasonable one here.
“Jayvon, you know what’s going on between you and Jaslene. You ditched our plan to pick out the ring and went off to make out with her. Do you really think I’m some pushover?
“Sir Sawyer, I have to call off this engagement today!”
Pablo’s countenance changed. He glared at Jayvon, his eyes blazing with anger, and said sharply, “Jayvon, is what Bree saying true?”

Jayvon’s face went pale, and he denied it right away. “How could that be? I’m looking out for Jaslene like a brother would. There’s no way I did any of the stuff Bree just mentioned! Someone must have been talking nonsense to her!
“Bree, you can’t frame me like that!”
He even seemed a bit wronged.
I flung all the photos I had gotten from that strange number, plus the cozy shots from Jaslene’s Instagram, right into his face.
“Gotta see the proof with your own eyes? Feeling wronged, huh? Jayvon, what have you got to feel wronged about? Are you saying it’s not you in these pics, but your twin brother or something?”
The photos were all over the floor. Jayvon saw them, and so did Pablo.
He started to freak out, scrambling to grab the photos. “Where did you get these from…”
He cut himself off mid–sentence. He froze, like he had remembered something, and then he bit his lip in frustration.
Pablo got so angry that he almost fainted.
“You good–for–nothing! You’re such a disgrace! Jayvon, what did I tell you before? I told you to stay away from her, and yet you’re still involved with her! She’s your cousin by name!”
His face turned bright red, and he slapped Jayvon right across the face, yelling, “Get down on your knees!”
