Chapter 10
At the first light of dawn, Dominic picked up Aurelia to go to the wedding hall for makeup and preparations.
She nestled in his arms, playfully whining, “Dominic, is Winter really going to show up
later?”
Dominic smiled as he stroked her hair. “Of course. Didn’t you want to invite her to witness our
moment?”
“You’re the most generous person in the world.”
He tenderly kissed her forehead, holding her lovingly in his arms.
Upon arriving at the wedding hall, Dominic and Aurelia were separated to change into their wedding attire.
Sitting alone in the dressing room, Dominic kept unconsciously checking his phone, but there wasn’t a single message from Winter.
Watching the clock hands move, he decided to call her, only to find her phone was turned off.
Today was the wedding Aurelia had been looking forward to for so long, and she was eager for Winter to witness it. But with her phone off, he worried she might be sulking out of jealousy.
By noon, crystal chandeliers illuminated the entire banquet hall in dazzling splendor. Dominic stood at the red carpet, his gaze repeatedly darting toward the entrance.
Backstage, Aurelia waited in her pristine white wedding gown.
Dominic watched from a distance, his eyes darkening as he unconsciously swallowed.
Half an hour had passed since the ceremony was supposed to start, but Winter still hadn’t appeared.
The wedding officiant urged them again from the stage. Dominic frowned, checking his watch.
He had expected Winter to at least come and make a scene, but her complete absence stirred an
unusual restlessness within him.
“Dominic, let’s get started. Everyone’s waiting,” Aurelia seemed impatient as she approached, taking

his arm with a pouty frown.
“Fine,” Dominic agreed, taking Aurelia’s hand.
Just as they turned, the doors burst open dramatically.
Dominic turned back sharply, barely suppressing his excitement, only to see a courier.
“Which one of you is Mr. Thorne? I have an express delivery for you.”
All the guests‘ eyes turned toward the door. Dominic’s frown deepened as he strode down from the red carpet.
“What’s going on? Why deliver this now? Can’t you see we’re in the middle of a wedding ceremony?”
His expression was displeased, as if venting all his waiting frustration on this courier.
“I’m sorry, but Ms. Bailey specifically instructed that it must be delivered at this exact time. She said it contains important documents.”
With that, the courier turned and left, leaving a confused Dominic behind.
Winter? Why wouldn’t she attend the wedding, yet go to the trouble of sending an express delivery?
The box was light, yet somehow felt heavy in his heart. This was all too strange.
“What’s it, Dominic?” Aurelia approached, her face full of impatience. Upon hearing it was from
Winter, her displeasure grew.
“If she wasn’t coming, couldn’t she have let us know ahead of time? Such a waste of our time. Let’s
start the ceremony, Dominic.”
Dominic knew his priority should be starting the ceremony, but his hands seemed to move of their
own accord as he opened the box.
Inside were two marriage certificates and a USB drive.
Seeing the marriage certificates, Dominic froze, thinking Winter was truly trying to cause trouble.
He was about to hide them when Aurelia snatched them away.
“What’s this?!” Aurelia asked excitedly, as if afraid she’d see names she didn’t want to see.

But a moment later, her expression softened.
Dominic… when did you do this behind my back?” she asked, touched, tears welling in her eyes.
Still nervous, Dominic quickly took back the certificates. There was no photo of him and Winter. But he name on the certificate was clearly Aurelia Reed.
He stared wide–eyed, his fingers involuntarily tightening. How could this be? Winter had definitely one to the register office, but how could the certificate…
The guests were congratulating them, but confusion echoed in his mind.
Everything was proceeding as Dominic had hoped, yet a strange feeling was rising within him, as if varning him about his true feelings for Winter.
What’s this USB drive? Is it a surprise you prepared for me?” Aurelia asked cheerfully, picking up he drive.
I don’t know either. Let’s take a look,” Dominic said, taking the USB drive and walking to the stage.
