Chapter 18
Without understanding why, Aurelia was pulled out of the car by Dominic. She stood by the roadside as he looked at his phone repeatedly, then instructed her to stand there while he drove the car a
short distance away.
Though confused, she complied. Her phone vibrated in her purse–a message from Dominic. She opened it to find only a photo–a newspaper clipping: “May 12, 2007, improper parking leads to
rear–end collision…”
A roaring sound filled Aurelia’s ears. She knew what this was. Trembling, she tried to call Dominic,
but along with the ringtone came the sound of his car engine.
She looked up in despair as the red Panamera stopped abruptly in front of her. The immense fear made her collapse to the ground.
He knew everything.
“Killing you now would be too merciful,” Dominic stepped out of the car, looking down at her. “Everything you did to Winter before, I’ll make you pay for it all.”
Dominic’s car drove through many twists and turns. Aurelia no longer cared where they were going.
She only knew that Dominic was keeping her with him to avenge Winter.
They drove for so long that Aurelia nearly fell asleep. In her hazy state, she saw Dominic get out of the car and speak with someone outside.
The shock from the afternoon had been too great for her to fully recover. She only heard snippets of
conversation coming through the window.
Half–asleep, Aurelia suddenly heard the words “bleeding disorder” and “bloodletting” reach her ears. She instantly awoke and flung open the car door without thinking.
Seeing her emerge, the doctor outside exchanged a glance with Dominic, who looked at her and
nodded to the doctor.
“Begin.”
Several nurses appeared and restrained Aurelia’s wrists. Before she could scream, a needle was inserted into her neck, and her body immediately went limp.

Chapter 18
As she lost consciousness, she heard Dominic’s voice:
“Atone properly for what you did to Winter.”
His voice was cold as ice, as if emerging from the depths of hell.
Atone? For what?
What sins could she have committed against Winter? The guilty one should be Winter! If not for
Winter, she wouldn’t be in this miserable state. Her life wasn’t supposed to turn out this way!
