I didn’t answer, but I truly couldn’t understand how Christopher had the nerve to say such things.
Seeing my silence, Christopher assumed I was still angry about
this matter.
So he proposed what he thought was a condition I would gladly accept. “As long as you’re willing to forgive Eleanor, I’ll marry you. How about that?”
Eleanor looked at him in disbelief.
Before I could agree, Christopher was already pulling Eleanor toward the exit.
I frowned slightly, and my bodyguard immediately blocked the entrance to the hall.
I said coldly, “Christopher, why are you leaving? The plagiarism matter has indeed been confirmed, but her identity as an illegitimate daughter and the fact that she drugged my mother haven’t been settled yet.”
Christopher stopped in his tracks immediately. His confused mind instantly became clear as he stared at Eleanor in shock. “Is what she’s saying true? Did you really drug Mrs. Athena Morris? Are you really Mr. Miles Morris’s illegitimate daughter?”

The barrage of questions made Eleanor’s face turn deathly pale.
She looked at Christopher with reddened eyes, her voice hoarse: “Christopher, please believe me. How could I possibly do such a thing? I regard Mrs. Athena Morris as my own mother. How could I hurt her?”
Hearing her words, Christopher hesitated, then said to me: “Natalie, Eleanor has a point too. The Morris family raised her. Even if she is an illegitimate daughter, you’ve shown her kindness by raising her. How could she possibly harm Mrs. Athena Morris? Regardless, Eleanor has been family with you for so many Christmases. Stop pushing her like this.”
Watching Christopher’s inability to distinguish right from wrong, I completely lost any remaining affection for him.
Indeed, even though he had been reborn, he was still a fool.
In my previous life, Christopher believed Eleanor’s words completely and was constantly deceived by her. Now, he was still a blind fool who couldn’t tell right from wrong.
I didn’t want to say anything more. At that moment, my other bodyguard brought over Dr. Noah Gray from Central Hospital.
I asked, “Dr. Gray, could you tell everyone present the results of the tests I commissioned from you a few days ago?”
Noah hadn’t expected today’s situation to be like this. After a

pause, he said, “We did indeed find hormonal sedative components in the medication Ms. Morris brought to us, including some banned substances that are particularly harmful to the human body.”
Eleanor seemed to catch a loophole in Noah’s words and quickly retorted, “You said this was sent by Natalie. Why couldn’t it be that she deliberately added the drugs?”
Hearing her words, everyone present was stunned.
Everyone knew that based on Noah’s testimony alone, they
couldn’t convict Eleanor.
Christopher thought Eleanor’s words made sense and said to me, “Natalie, I know Mrs. Athena Morris is very important to you, which is why you worry over the smallest things. But Eleanor has a point too. This might just be a misunderstanding. Stop making a scene.”
Just as I was about to say something, a voice rang out from outside the banquet hall. Then Athena entered with Ava Parker, our family’s nanny.
Seeing Ava clearly, Eleanor trembled all over in fear and nearly collapsed to the ground.
I glanced at the frightened and guilty Eleanor, then looked at Athena: “Mom, you’re here.”

Ava behind her was wearing handcuffs, with several police officers standing guard nearby.

I continued, “Ava has been the nanny taking care of my mother at our house, but she was bribed by Eleanor to switch my mother’s medication. After successfully switching the drugs, she found an excuse to quit.”
Julian hadn’t expected such events to unfold at his birthday party and frowned as he asked, “Who orchestrated this?”
Athena pointed at Eleanor, her eyes red but filled with hatred: “It was her–my late husband’s illegitimate daughter, Eleanor!”
