Eric’s POV
Meanwhile, elsewhere.
On the altar, the ancient and mysterious Moon Goddess ritual was underway, but Eric felt a persistent unease.
A strange anxiety gnawed at him, making him restless, as if something important was about to disappear from his life.
The ceremony ended. He’d barely paid attention, his mind filled with a sense of urgency he couldn’t place. It was as if a voice was urging him to go back immediately. Almost instinctively, he stood up and left as soon as it was over.
His sudden movement startled Gianna beside him. Seeing him hurry out, she quickly followed.
“Eric, Eric! What’s wrong? Didn’t you like the ceremony?”
Hearing her call from behind, Eric stopped, glanced back at her, but his eyes held no patience. “No, I just remembered something important. I’ll have the guards take you back.”
Without another word, ignoring Gianna’s calls, he turned and left, his pace quick and urgent.
Gianna didn’t know what she’d done to annoy him, why his attitude had changed so drastically. Remembering what he’d just said, she pouted, not too bothered.
So what if he was being a bit difficult now? The alliance between their two packs was a done deal. With their shared interests, they’d have to complete the mating ceremony sooner or later.
Even if she was just a Beta, her family background and the value of their alliance were more than enough to make up for it.
Eric didn’t know what was wrong with him either. Even standing in front of the storage room door again, he still felt dazed, not understanding why he felt so on edge.
He pushed open the small door to the storage room and stepped inside. His Alpha instinct made him call out the familiar name:
“Sera.”
But time ticked by, and no one answered.
It was only then he realized Sera hadn’t responded to his mind–link for a long time.
When had it started?
It seerned… it was from that day she’d confronted him, tears in her eyes, holding photos of him and Gianna talking intimately by the Moon Goddess Lake, asking him what was going on. And he’d impatiently tossed the photos in the trash, brushing her off.
“I told you, it’s just pack alliance business. Why do you always have to bother me with such trivial things?”
Eric couldn’t remember Sera’s reaction then. He only knew that after that, she gradually became quiet, grew distant, and even started rejecting the comfort of his pheromones.
She had indeed suffered a lot during this time.
But it was okay, he would make it up to her. He could give her a bigger room, softer blankets, even… an official status.
Thinking this, Eric turned on the light and searched the dim storage room. But one glance told him something was wrong.
Something was missing.
He frowned, looking around again. In the unusual silence, his pupils suddenly constricted.
Disbelief flooded Eric’s face, his breathing growing heavy and ragged.
He rushed to Sera’s bed, searching every possible hiding spot, only to confirm one thing-
All of Sera’s belongings were gone.
She left?
But… how could that be?
They had been together for three years, relying on each other through lonely, difficult times. He had given her shelter, a chance to survive.

How could she just leave, without a word?
Eric couldn’t believe it.
He shut off his mind–link.
His phone kept vibrating beside him, but Eric, his mind in turmoil and filled with thoughts of Sera, couldn’t be bothered to look at it, letting it ring over and over.
He didn’t know how much time passed before urgent knocking came from the door.
Eric, as if just snapping out of a daze, got up and opened it. Luna Anya, seeing him standing there perfectly fine, frowned, her voice sharp with
displeasure.
“What are you doing in here? Why aren’t you answering your phone?” But before Eric could reply, Luna Anya noticed the state of the storage room, her expression growing even sterner. “What’s going on? What is this mess?”
Luna Anya’s voice kept droning on, but Eric seemed to hear nothing, completely lost in his own world.
“Eric, I’m talking to you, do you
hear me?”
Noticing her son’s strange behavior, Luna Anya

The name reached Luna Anya’s ears, making her frown, her eyes filled with contempt and disdain.
A low–born Omega with no bloodline to speak of, who only got close to the Dark Moon pack’s inner circle because Eric had lost his memory. Only then did she even enter the sights of the upper–class pack members.
But even living in the manor, wearing fine clothes, she couldn’t hide that cheap aura.
She and Eric were destined to be on different levels.
Good thing she had some self–awareness and knew when to leave.
