Silence stretched between us. After a long while, he finally spoke, his voice hoarse:
“Sera… have you been well all these years?”
Just a simple greeting, yet it seemed to drain all his strength.
He stood about two steps away from me. Instinct made him want to get closer, to touch me, but my cold demeanor made him hesitate.
Just like he didn’t dare to ask, “I’ve missed you so much, did you miss me?”
Thanks to him and Luna Anya, I had indeed been doing well.
The hundred million dollars they gave me was enough to finish my studies at Europe’s oldest Moonlit Forest Academy and become a respected healer after graduation. Even now, a considerable amount of that money was still in my savings.
But I had no intention of sharing any of this with him.
I turned to face him, my voice as calm as if I were speaking to a stranger. “Is there anything else, Young Master Eric?”
“Young Master Eric.” Those words were like a sharp silver blade stabbing him in the heart. A flicker of pain crossed his eyes, his Adam’s apple bobbed, and his voice choked with emotion:
“Sera, do we… do we have to be like this between us?”
Before he could finish, I raised my hand to stop him, looking directly into his eyes, my gaze clear and steady.
“Young Master Eric, there is no ‘us‘.” One sentence drew the line crystal clear. I maintained a polite smile, but it sent a chill down his spine.
The coldness spread down his spine, making even this powerful Alpha shiver.
“Young Master Eric, there hasn’t been an ‘us‘ for five years. Only you, and me,” I said, each word like a nail hammered into his heart.
Eric stood there, frozen, as if struck by lightning.
I thought after this meeting, I wouldn’t have to see him for a long time.
However, just two days later, I saw his tall figure downstairs from my apartment. He was leaning against a black luxury car, looking like he’d been waiting for a long time, his eyes filled with exhaustion and anticipation.
I suppressed my irritation, first sending Orion a text, then walked towards him, still keeping a safe distance.

The light in Eric’s eyes quickly dimmed, but he still forced a smile. “Sera, no matter how you deny it, you can’t erase our past. I know you’re still angry with me, but I’ll prove that I’ve realized my mistakes.”
