“Don’t touch me!”
Xavier shoved Noella away like he’d touched fire.
He clung to the doorway, his fingers digging into the metal as his body trembled.
When he turned to Benjamin and Faye, his eyes were filled with rage as he instructed the nurses, “Draw their blood
now!”
“What?”
Faye took a frightened step back.
“Xavier, are you crazy? Noella is weak! How can she give blood?”
“Weak?” His voice cracked with a mix of laughter and pain.
“You said she was dying. But look at her–completely fine!”
Without warning, he yanked Noella’s hair and slammed her face against the cold glass.
She screamed and tried to break free, but chunks of her hair came loose in his hand.
“Xavier, I don’t know what you’re saying!”
“Get her blood!” he shouted again as he violently pulled her hair. “She and Estella are twins. Their blood types must
match!”
The nurses were stunned by his wild behavior. They didn’t move until he drew his gun–only then did they rush to re- strain Noella.
For years, Xavier had always spoiled Noella. She had never been treated so roughly before.
Now, fury rose in her. “Xavier! Have you lost your mind?”
He yanked her up, forcing her head back. The veins in her neck stood out, and her soft tone twisted into something shrill and angry.
“You’re doing this for that jinx? She was just a tool to carry your child! Wasn’t that the reason you married her?”
“Shut up!”
Xavier slammed the gun barrel into the wall. Bits of shattered plaster flew off and sliced her cheek,
“She’s in this state because of you! If she didn’t need your blood, I wouldn’t have let you live.”

Chapter 6
Noella held her bleeding face, shock filling her eyes.
“You’re turning on me… for her? I saved you on a rainy night seven years ago! Why are you doing this now?”
Benjamin was also pissed off.
“Xavier, don’t forget our family helped you get to where you are!
“Estella brings nothing but misfortune. Her death wouldn’t matter! Noella is the one we truly value!”
Xavier’s eyes darkened with rage. He kicked Benjamin hard, slamming him against the wall.
“Shut up!”

Then, he grabbed Noella’s neck. “How dare you bring up what happened seven years ago?
“You’ve been pretending to be my savior and playing me around, haven’t you?”
Xavier squeezed her neck, lifting her feet off the ground. It made a sharp cracking sound.
Still, Noella struggled to speak through the pain.
“I–I never said I was your savior. You were the one who believed it!
“I loved you so much I tried to make the best of it.”
Xavier tightened his grip angrily. “Why did you do this? Tell me!”
Noella gasped, nearly choking.
She stammered, “I–I found out who you are by accident. I knew you were searching for someone to save you, so I faked the birthmark.”
ves were red, and her nails dug deeply into Xavier’s hand, drawing blood.
ven years, you promised to protect me forever. Was all your kindness just a lie?”
Xavier’s eyes turned bloodshot, his veins bulging as he almost crushed her throat.
“That was meant for Estella.”
He suddenly shoved her down.
Noella collapsed, coughing up blood that soaked her hospital gown.
“Drain her blood.”
“Take her blood,” Xavier ordered the stunned doctor, not even looking back. His leather shoe pressed down on her trembling fingers.
Benjamin and Faye dashed forward, desperate to stop him. Faye’s screams echoed down the corridor.
“You’re insane!”

Xavier grabbed her neck, slamming her against the wall.
With his other hand, he pulled out a gun and pressed it against Benjamin’s forehead.
A cruel smile spread across his face.
“No need to rush. One at a time. After she’s done, it’ll be your turn.”
