Dump His Dying 45

Chapter 7

Meanwhile, at the hospital…

Only after Naomi had undergone all necessary examinations and been declared unharmed did Roman finally relax.

“Naomi, I’ve told you, I can’t divorce Hazel. I can give you everything except that legal status. I don’t want today’s events to happen a

second time…”

Before he could finish, her hands had already slipped inside his shirt as she whispered in his ear.

“Roman, why don’t you punish me properly?”

She’d made up her mind to keep him at any cost.

Naomi vividly remembered that in the fire, Hazel had been the one abandoned. Thinking of this, her movements grew more eager to please him.

Roman’s breathing tightened as he grabbed the back of her head, kissing her hungrily.

Just then, the phone on the bedside table rang.

He paused, about to reach for it, but Naomi beat him to it-disconnect, power off-done in one smooth motion.

Roman frowned in displeasure, but before he could speak, she moved lower, and intense pleasure instantly drowned out his rational

thoughts.

He spent hours ravishing Naomi on the hospital bed before finally falling into exhausted sleep.

Sometime later-he wasn’t sure how long-Roman woke to find the window outside pitch black with night.

Looking at the sleeping Naomi curled against him, his expression softened. He leaned over to place a kiss on her forehead. Then he grabbed the phone from the nightstand and quietly left the room.

Roman stopped a passing nurse to ask about Hazel’s injuries.

The nurse paused in confusion before politely explaining.

“I’m sorry, but Miss Bennett never came to our hospital, so we don’t know…”

Before she could finish, Roman’s expression darkened dramatically.

“Never came to the hospital?! What kind of medical professionals are you? She just came out of a fire, covered in injuries! Why didn’t you bring her in for treatment? Can you take responsibility if something happens to her?!”

The young nurse, rattled by his shouting, timidly defended herself.

“We wanted to bring her in, but you said to take Miss Jensen first and that you’d handle any issues…”

As her words registered, the air around them seemed to freeze.

Roman stood petrified, his face ashen.

He had indeed said that. When he saw Naomi unconscious, he’d panicked, thinking only of getting her to the hospital first, then sending someone back for Hazel. But then Naomi had distracted him again…

Realizing this, Roman’s eyes filled with remorse. He quickly pulled out his phone to contact Hazel. Only to find hundreds of missed

calls and dozens of unread messages from his assistant.

A foreboding feeling rose within him. He quickly opened the messages.

[Boss, the company is holding an emergency board meeting to select a new CEO!]

[The meeting’s about to start-if you don’t come now, it’ll be too late!]

The final message was from an hour ago.

[Meeting’s over. Dominic Lloyd has been elected as the new CEO.]

Roman’s mind went blank, like he’d been struck by lightning, leaving him frozen in disbelief.
