Benjamin managed to land more punches when Jason was distracted He vented his anger through violence
Natale s so kind, Jason How could you beat to treat her like that? How could you be so heartless You rea
bastard and a fucking monster!
“To think she loved you with all her heart! Do you know how much she suffered to conceive your child? Bella
put her on interventional treatment- she had to inject a needle over three inches long into her belly every other day! Even knowing that the odds were almost zero, she was still willing to endure the pain for you!
“The heavens took pity on her and finally allowed her to conceive, but what did you do? You and Sienna killed
the baby! You don’t deserve Natalie’s love, Jason! Scum like you doesn’t even deserve to live!”
Benjamin shoved Jason aside after venting his anger and frustration. It was as if Jason was nothing more than a
pile of trash to him. He snapped, “Someone get over here and throw him out!”
A few people came over and dragged Jason away, kicking him out of the compound.
He didn’t fight back. He dragged himself into the car and collapsed inside like he was a zombie. Then, he
grabbed the steering wheel tightly until his eyes prickled and teared. His breathing sped up, and he started
choking up.
Suddenly, Jason understood everything. He knew why he’d thought Natalie had changed and why the look in
her eyes had made him feel uneasy.
It turned out she’d learned the truth behind the accident three years ago. That was why she’d asked him at the
hospital whether they would divorce one day–she’d already intended on leaving him then. And it turned out it
had been so difficult for her to conceive their child.
Jason had always been handsome and proud, but he was now as downtrodden and unkempt as an abandoned
dog
After a long silence, he pulled out a cigarette and lit it with difficulty. Then, he took a long, deep drag, the action
hollowing out his bruised cheeks. Tears filled his eyes
Bella was at the airport to meet Natalie when the latter’s flight arrived in Mushane Sheld prepared an apartment for Natalie It wasn’t large–only about a thousand square feet However it was close to the hospital where she would undergo her cornea transplant, making it convenient for her future follow ups
After settling in, Bella brought Natalie for a pre–surgery checkup. The latter had a full medical checkup dune at the same time. Fortunately, she was in good health. It was too bad Bella couldn’t do anything about her scarred
heart, though.
Natalie couldn’t get used to Bella, who was usually so talkative, being so quiet. She asked, “What’s wrong? You haven’t spoken much since I got here. Are you upset that I’m here?”
Bella felt like something had become lodged in her throat the moment she opened her mouth “Of course not
I’m delighted to have you here, but my heart aches whenever I talk to you And when my heart aches, I feel like
crying.
Her eyes reddened as she spoke
Natalie didn’t want her to worry, so she held her hand and smiled. “Why would you want to cry? I’ve left an
unhappy marriage, and I can start a new life now. You should be happy for me, really.
“Come on. Smile. You look so pretty when you do.”
Bella had barely been holding back her tears. Natalie’s words made her break down. She sobbed while cursing
Jason and Sienna. Thankfully, she felt much better after venting her anger.
That night, Bella and Natalie spent the night together. They talked about things that had happened in their
childhood. For a moment, Natalie felt like she’d forgotten about all the hurt she’d experienced. It was almost as
if she’d time–traveled back to her worry–free childhood.
They chatted and chatted until they fell asleep without realizing it.
Bella was worried Natalie would be bored on her own, so she had someone get her a guide dog. The dog could, on one hand, lead Natalie around before the surgery, and it would also provide mental and emotional support.
The day of the surgery arrived in the blink of an eye. Bella told Natalie that the donor was a 16–year–old girl
whose life had been taken by a congenital heart disease
