25 years ago, Susan worked as a maid for the Spencer family. Coincidentally, she and Daphne fell pregnant around the same time and gave birth on the same day.
After giving birth to her child, Susan suddenly vanished without a race. No one could contact her.
At the time, no one knew that she had secretly switched the two babies.
The Spencers did not think much of her disappearance. Susan was only a maid, hardly worth their concern.
It wasn’t until Natalie was 18 years old and needed a blood transfusion due to an injury that the Spencers discovered that she had a rare blood type. Both Daphne and Hugh had common blood types–how could they have conceived a child with a rare blood type?
So, Daphne did a paternity test with Natalie, which confirmed that they had no biological relation. Only then did the Spencers realize that Natalie wasn’t their child to begin with.
Not long after, Daphne found Sienna, her real daughter, and Susan was arrested and sentenced to prison for swapping the babies at birth.
Natalie would’ve been thrown out of the house at the time if it weren’t for Vera’s fierce protection. Even so, every day she spent in the Spencer household afterward felt like walking on knives.
Over the years, Natalie had tried to let go of the past, but she couldn’t bring herself to forgive Susan.
It was her selfish actions that swapped Natalie’s and Sienna’s lives. No matter what her intentions were, it was still wrong.
That was also why she never once thought of retaliating against the Spencers despite their poor treatment.
Then again, she could let the Spencers be, but she couldn’t ignore the fact that Sienna had orchestrated her car accident and colluded with Jason to steal her corneas.
In the end, Natalie did not answer Benjamin’s question. Perhaps only time could answer his question.
Instead, she changed the subject. “Ben, actually, I didn’t come back just for her. I also wanted to ask you to help me find my biological father.”
“Your biological father?” Benjamin repeated.
Natalie nodded. “Yeah. I looked into Susan’s past. She never had a boyfriend, not even any male friends. She came straight from her hometown to Grendale to work as a maid for the Spencers and got pregnant not long after.”
“So, you suspect that your father was with the Spencers as well?”
Natalie replied firmly, “Yes.”
Benjamin studied her for a moment before asking cautiously, “Why don’t you just ask Ms. Watson?”
Natalie frowned. Her gaze drifted away as she lowered her voice almost instinctively, saying, “If she wanted to tell me, she would’ve done so when she was arrested. Besides…”
She wasn’t ready to face her yet.
Benjamin understood her reservations, so he did not press further.
Just then, an argument erupted outside their door.
A woman’s haughty voice carried through clearly. “If you won’t tell me, then I’ll just have to check every single private room in this place!”
Outside, the restaurant’s manager, Tom Freeman, looked flustered “Ma’am, you can’t do that. If you really want to know, you can just call and ask. You can’t disturb our other guests.”

The woman, Jane Yeller, sounded calm yet arrogant. “So what if I did?”
Dressed head–to–toe in designer clothes, she looked at Tom with an air of superiority. “I am Jason Pereira’s girlfriend. These people wouldn’t dare to offend him!”
And why wasn’t Jason answering her phone? She’d seen his car parked downstairs. He had to be here.
He’d been distant lately. Had he grown tired of her already?
That wouldn’t do. She couldn’t let that happen.
Behind the door, Natalie heard every word. She was surprised Jason had found himself a new lover so soon.
Wasn’t he smitten with Sienna? He loved her enough to hurt an innocent person, enough to sacrifice his own happiness just to make her happy.
She’d thought his undying love for Sienna was something rare and precious. Turned out, it was nothing special, after all.
