Chapter 80
Natalie stood in place and watched as Sienna charged toward her like a maniacal shrew, only for Xavier to slap the latter hard across the face with a deafening crack.
Sienna broke down. She didn’t want to throw a hysterical fit. She wanted to appear dignified. But the composure she’d worked so hard to keep finally slipped. She pointed at Natalie and cried, “How dare you hit me because of her, Xavier? I’m your wife!” Xavier’s brows drew together as a grimace twisted his features. “I already filed for divorce. Get your facts straight, Sienna. You’re no longer Mrs. Steiner.”
Sienna stared at Xavier intently, her eyes red with tears. “We haven’t even gone to court yet, but even if the judge granted a divorce order, I’d appeal against it. If you think you can just dump me and run away with this whore, Xavier, you’ll be in for a huge disappointment!”
Natalie was like a nosy bystander, elegantly savoring the fruit she’d put on her white porcelain plate as she watched Sienna and Xavier’s spat. Her smile grew even more dazzling when she heard Sienna hurl abuse at Xavier like a scorned wife.
As it turned out, nothing could beat the satisfaction that came from watching one’s enemies suffer.
Xavier’s head throbbed at the sight of Sienna. Why did he marry her in the first place? The word “regret” couldn’t even begin to describe the bitter feeling coursing in his veins.
He gripped a fistful of his hair, appearing somewhat agitated as he snapped, “Cut the crap, Sienna! Do you even know how disgusted I am by you?”
Sienna pointed at Natalie again. “Natalie, you made a move on Xavier, didn’t you? Are you so slutty that you’d go after a married man?”
Now that Sienna had directed the blame to Natalie, the latter quietly set her porcelain plate down. Natalie’s aqua–colored dress accentuated her curves, and her every move was like a siren’s call to the men among the guests.
She stood tall and proud before the speculating crowd that had gathered around them and said, “Sienna, did you think the public would forget the truth? Xavier was my fiance to begin with, but he married you in the end.
“My ex–husband–your precious lover–is practically walking proof that you wrecked my marriage! Don’t you find it ironic for you to accuse me of seducing your husband now?”
Natalie had been the victim right from the start, and that was all the reason she needed, considering her less–than- advantageous circumstances.
Sienna could argue until her tongue fell off, and she still wouldn’t turn the narrative in her favor. She clenched her fists and gritted her teeth. But she hadn’t come here for Xavier today. She was here for Jason.
She forced herself to calm down, realizing she could not let Natalie get on her nerves anymore.
A dark look passed over Sienna’s face. A moment later, she seethed “I’ll never divorce you, Xavi between us until we’re both six feet under!”
drag out this mess
Unless… Sienna withdrew her vicious gaze and searched for another familiar figure among the crowd. Sure enough, she found Jason in a remote corner.
She had known all along that Xavier never got over Natalie. If he had, he wouldn’t have hesitated to break up with Natalie. It was how Natalie ended up crying to Jason, who obliged her and married her to dash Xavier’s hopes of ever reconciling with her.
Sienna was no fool. If she and Xavier couldn’t go back to the way they were, she had to find backup.

Jason had loved Sienna for years, willingly abandoning himself in the process. All she had to do was play a few tricks to wrap him around her little finger once more.
When she learned that Jason was attending the homecoming banquet Benjamin threw in Bella’s honor, she made it a point to show up as well. She didn’t think Xavier would be here, either.
