Delilah struggled to hide the frustration on her face.

From how Damon treated her now, even though they were married, he still wouldn’t live with her. This meant her position in the

Price family would be weakened. 1

If she could move into the old mansion, although it wouldn’t give her complete control over Damon, she could use the baby to win

favor with the elders. In that case, her status in the Price family would be secure.

“Aunt, Damon and I aren’t married yet. Moving into the old mansion at this time… It doesn’t seem appropriate. Let’s not do that.”

Agatha patted Delilah’s hand. “Oh, you’ll be married soon enough, what’s the big deal? We’ll just have Damon pick you up from

the old mansion and take you to the hotel for the ceremony. It’s settled, then.”

At the Price Corp building, Kin was reporting work to Damon while holding a schedule. After finishing the work report, he began

discussing Hazel’s recent actions, which were tasks that Damon had assigned him.

“Miss Queen has recently retrieved all the projects we had intercepted earlier, and the investment amounts from those clients

have more than doubled.”

“Also, Miss Hasani met with Miss Queen yesterday. Miss Queen… Miss Queen slapped Miss Hasani a couple of times…”

Kin couldn’t bring himself to finish his sentence. Although Damon didn’t like Delilah, she was still carrying the Price family’s

child.

What Miss Queen did yesterday was indeed excessive. However, after watching the video, Kin saw that Miss Queen had held back,

and there was no harm to the child.

Still, there was always a risk. Pregnant women were naturally more fragile.

“What? She slapped Delilah?!”

Damon, who had been focused on work, immediately turned his attention to Kin, his eyes wide with disbelief.

“Don’t worry. Miss Queen held back, and the child’s fine. I asked the family doctor today, and he said it’s just a cold; there’s no

other effect.”

A cold? How could someone catch a cold from being slapped? It wasn’t like Miss Queen stripped her or anything.

Kin immediately found the video and showed it to Damon. After watching it, Damon’s confusion deepened.

The video didn’t show the exaggerated scene Kin described. It only showed two slaps, which, in truth, wouldn’t have hurt the

child.

As for the cold, that didn’t make any sense either.

“The matriarch went to the Price Mansion today to visit Miss Hasani. She was very concerned about Miss Hasani’s condition and

decided to bring her to the old mansion.”

Damon’s confusion turned into realization. So that’s what happened. It was likely another trick by Delilah to make the Price family worry and bring her into the old mansion.

But what puzzled Damon even more was what Delilah had said to Hazel. What had she done to make Hazel lose control and attack

a pregnant woman?

“Investigate why Delilah went to see Hazel yesterday. Find out what they talked about. It’s best to uncover everything they said.”

“Understood!”

When Agatha brought Delilah back to the old mansion, the rest of the family was sitting in the living room discussing the wedding

ceremony in a few days.

When they saw Agatha helping Delilah into the house, no one knew what to make of it. It was Jamal who reacted first.

“Agatha, what are you doing? Even if what happened yesterday was true, you didn’t have to bring her to the old mansion! What

will people think when they hear about it?”

Delilah’s family was not wealthy, and in Vernon, they didn’t even have a proper home. Her parents were farmers in the

countryside.

They had been discussing how to pick Delilah up from her house to take her to the hotel for the wedding. But Agatha had directly

brought her back to the old mansion.

If word got out that the Price family went to pick up the bride from her own house and brought her straight to the old mansion,

society’s upper circles would gossip for years.

“Delilah’s condition is bad. I can’t leave her alone at Damon’s Mansion. Our first grandchild can’t be put at risk.”

Seeing Delilah’s pale face, the others didn’t say much more.

After Agatha helped Delilah settle upstairs, she came down to explain things to Mark Price.

When Mark heard about Delilah being slapped by Hazel, his expression became very serious. He knew Hazel well and couldn’t

believe she would do something like that.

“Why isn’t Delilah staying at home to take care of her pregnancy? Why is she running around now? The wedding between her and

Damon is all over the internet, and now she’s going to meet Damon’s ex-wife? Isn’t that just asking for trouble?”

Agatha knew that Mark had always favored Hazel, but she didn’t expect him to be this biased.

Even though it was Hazel who hit someone, Mark still found fault with Delilah.

“Dad, I asked Delilah. She just thinks you favor Hazel, so she wanted to invite her to attend her wedding with Damon. She didn’t mean anything by it.”

Mark snorted, unwilling to engage in a conversation with his daughter-in-law, whom he thought was being unreasonable.

“How is Delilah? Her face looks pale. Is there something wrong with the baby?”

Seeing that Agatha and Mark were about to start arguing again, Jamal quickly stepped in to mediate.

Mark, putting aside his previous displeasure, was now curious to hear what Agatha would say next.

“The doctor said it’s just a cold. Since she’s pregnant, she can’t take any medicine, so it got worse. I brought her back to get

treated by a good Herbalist and make sure she’s in good health. We need to ensure she’s healthy and can give us a healthy

grandson.”

Being slapped and then catching a cold-there was no real connection between the two, and only Agatha seemed not to notice the

problem. Both Mark and Jamal’s expressions immediately turned grim.

“You can’t catch a cold from being slapped! I think this Delilah lacks some common sense,” Mark said before leaving for the

garden to bask in the sun, no longer wanting to discuss the matter.

Although Delilah was carrying Demian’s child, even though Mark didn’t like her, he couldn’t say too much. He decided to wait

until the child was born to make a final decision.

Seeing that Mark didn’t care, Agatha grew even more anxious. She urged Jamal to call Damon back.

If she had called directly, Damon might not have listened to her, as he usually paid more attention to what Jamal or Mark said.

During lunch, Damon returned to the old mansion. Before they even started eating, Agatha began her lecture.

“Damon, I’m sure you’ve seen the videos online. I called you back for this reason. Delilah is pregnant, and could you go speak to

Hazel and ask her to stop bullying Delilah? If something happens to the baby, Hazel will have a lot to explain to us.”

Damon sighed. He lost his appetite before even starting the meal.

Though he still didn’t know what Delilah wanted when she went to see Hazel, she was the one who approached Hazel first. It wasn’t like Hazel was chasing her down. If she didn’t want to get slapped, she shouldn’t have gone looking for trouble. But Agatha

didn’t understand this logic.

“Hazel must be holding a grudge against Delilah. If you don’t warn her, I won’t feel at ease.’

Before Damon could respond, Mark cleared his throat twice and spoke without even looking at Agatha.

“If you don’t want to cause trouble, don’t go looking for trouble. Hazel would never go out of her way to bother someone like

Delilah. Damon, go ask Hazel what really happened. If it’s Delilah’s fault, then let your mom talk to her.”

“Got it.”
