I Don’t Like Her

In the evening, Hazel was refining the company’s development plan for the next year when Damon’s call came in.

She didn’t even have to guess-it was probably about Delilah. Without hesitation, she turned off her phone. Out of sight, out of

mind.

Less than half an hour later, there was a knock on the door. By this time, the office staff had all gone home, so Hazel assumed it

was her assistant, Eddie, coming to see her. She instructed them to come in.

To her surprise, it wasn’t Eddie who entered, but Damon. Since she didn’t take his call, he decided to show up in person. How

interesting.

“What are you doing here?” she asked.

“Who else did you expect? Your boyfriend?”

Damon had intended to have a calm conversation with Hazel, but her sharp words immediately provoked him. His patience was

quickly worn thin.

“I’m here to ask about the incident online. Don’t worry, I’m not here to make accusations, I just want to understand what

happened. If you don’t tell me, I’ll keep bothering you until you do.”

Knowing that Hazel wasn’t easy to deal with, Damon had already planned his approach before arriving.

Hazel wasn’t angry. She simply turned back to her work, “I’m busy right now. If you really want to talk, then sit over there and

wait until I finish.”

It wasn’t meant to be difficult for him; the company’s annual plan was detailed down to monthly and weekly schedules, and Hazel

had a bit of an obsessive personality. She didn’t like being interrupted before finishing a task.

Damon raised an eyebrow, then sat on the nearby sofa, fiddling with his phone, occasionally glancing at Hazel.

During the three years of their marriage, Damon had never observed her this carefully. At that time, he only saw her as a dutiful

wife, staying at home without socializing much, no real friends or activities of her own.

But now, seeing her immersed in work, a new side of her was revealed-a side that made her seem distant, high above him, almost

untouchable.

About an hour later, Hazel finally finished her work. Seeing that Damon was still there, she stretched before walking over to him.

“You really are persistent. The president of Price Corp, handling millions in minutes, and yet you’re willing to wait in my little

office for over an hour.”

Though it was after work hours, the president’s schedule wasn’t fixed, and overtime was common.

She poured herself a cup of hot tea and sat down on the sofa across from him, her eyes locking onto his.

If things went as expected, this was probably the first time since their divorce that they were sitting together, talking civilly.

Unbelievably, it was all because of Delilah.

“It seems Delilah means a lot to you. For her, you’re willing to go out of your way to make time like this.”

When Hazel spoke, her face was expressionless, but Damon could still detect the hint of sadness in her tone.

“It’s not that she’s important to me, but the child she’s carrying holds weight in my heart. I can’t explain it all right now, just

know this-I don’t like her.”

Hazel let out a cold laugh and placed her cup on the table in front of her. Her eyes, as she looked at him, held a touch of mockery.

Having a child already and still saying things like this in front of your ex-wife really doesn’t leave a good impression.

“Go on, what do you want to know? Or did you wait here all this time just to fight for Delilah’s justice?”

In just one day, news of Hazel hitting a pregnant woman had spread like wildfire.

The internet was flooded with insults directed at Hazel. Her social media accounts were so heavily attacked that she couldn’t log

in, and she had to get a new phone number because the old one was practically bombarded with calls.

Even the Queen Corp took a heavy hit, with its stock prices hitting a historic low. Several board members approached Hazel to

demand solutions, only to be brushed off by her with a few dismissive words.

“No, I just want to know what you and Delilah talked about yesterday. Your situation online is already so dire-aren’t you going to do anything about it?”

“If you want to know about the conversation, why not ask Delilah? Why bother me? And as for my own problems, you don’t need

to worry. I’ll handle them myself,” Hazel replied nonchalantly, fiddling with her nails as if she couldn’t care less.

Talking to someone she disliked about another person she equally despised made her lose all interest in continuing the

conversation.

“We’re divorced now; we’re not even friends. I hope you’ll stop involving me in anything, especially when it comes to your family

matters. I’ve already said the same thing to Delilah. Mr. Price, you may leave now.”

If it weren’t so late and the office building so empty, there was no way Damon could have just waltzed into her office like this.

It seemed she’d need to implement a security rule specifically for him in the future-something like, ‘Damon and his pets are

prohibited from entry.’

Just as she finished speaking, Eddie pushed open the door and entered. Seeing Damon there, he nearly thought he’d walked into

the wrong room.

“What took you so long? Is everything sorted out?”

Hazel’s voice pulled him back to reality. It was then that he realized he hadn’t made a mistake-it was Damon who had shown up

in their boss’s office.

Given the way these two always clashed whenever they saw each other, this scene was truly baffling.

“All done, but… what’s going on here?”

“Nothing, just a minor inconvenience. Let’s go,” Hazel said as she gathered her belongings, ignoring Damon completely and preparing to leave with Eddie.

Damon had lost count of how many times he’d seen this man recently. And now, so late at night, the two of them were together again-looking like they were even planning to go home together.

“This woman… could she have already moved in with another man?’

Damon quickly stepped forward, yanking Hazel behind him and glaring menacingly at Eddie.

“Who are you? What’s your relationship with Hazel?”

Hazel shoved his hand away with force. “If you don’t want to end up like Delilah, don’t put your hands on me again!”

With that, she walked over to Eddie and stepped into the elevator with him.

Before the elevator doors closed, she looked out at Damon with a blank expression. “Once we leave this building, the locks will activate. Unless you want to be stuck in here all night, I suggest you hurry downstairs, Mr. Price.”

Cursing under his breath, Damon pressed the button for the other elevator.

The incident with Delilah hadn’t been worth this visit. Yet, for reasons he couldn’t explain, the thought of Hazel’s face had compelled him to drive to the Queen Corp building as if possessed.

Eddie!

He had to figure out what the relationship between these two really was.
