My younger sister got married when she was only twenty, and had her first child at twenty for me, I’m already twenty–seven and still haven’t found someone to marry.
Over the
years, I’d brought several boyfriends home, but every time things got serious–right around the engagement talk–my father would take them into his study.
I never knew what he said to them, but when those men came out, they were different.
Cold. Terrifying.
Some even looked at me like they wanted to strangle me with their bare hands.
My latest boyfriend was furious with my dad, and when he came out of the study, he looked at me
with burning rage and broke up with me on the spot, even slapping me twice.
I was confused. What was the real reason they broke up with me? What was hidden in my dad’s
study that had such a profound effect on them?
“You disgusting little slut. Are you really that desperate? Next time, I should just let one of your boyfriends kill you. Maybe then you’ll finally learn.”
After my boyfriend stormed out, my father glared at me, his voice dripping with venom.
To be honest, in these past few years, I’ve had five boyfriends, and every relationship ended in a nasty breakup. Before they turned cruel and violent towards me, all of them had been into my dad’s
study.
Though I didn’t want to believe that people’s hearts could change so quickly, this was exactly what happened.
I frowned at my dad, hoping to hear an apology from him. But the look on his face suggested that he wished he could tear me apart. He even lamented that my boyfriend had let me off so easily, not killing me on the spot.
I’ve always known my dad preferred my sister over me and never really cared about me.
When I first wanted to date, he ordered me to break up immediately, yet my sister, who was twenty, could marry at the legal age, without hesitation. Why was I treated so differently?
Watching my sister’s husband/move in and dote on her, taking care of her every day,de me feel envious. Why couldn’t I be with the person I loved forever like she was?
At this point, my dad would kick me to the ground and tell me not to look at my sister’s husband.

When my sister and her husband went abroad for their honeymoon, my dad forced me to kivel home and reflect on my behavior. He even got my sister to tell me that I shouldn’t marry and that it would only ruin other people’s lives.
I never imagined that my dad would keep sabotaging my relationships with men. I even wondered if I had been adopted, but after hiring a private investigator, I found out that I was definitely his biological daughter.
I was completely lost, so I turned to the Internet to vent my frustrations. Many people responded, suggesting different reasons for my dad’s behavior.
“Could it be that you were born on the day your dad was supposed to make a big deal, and because of your birth, he lost a fortune? Maybe he wants to take revenge on you for that.”
“I think you look like your dad’s mistress. Maybe your mom doesn’t like you, so your dad treats you this way.”
I looked into it, but my dad was a teacher and had never been involved in business. He was also very upright and had never had a mistress.
I still couldn’t figure out why he was so determined to prevent me from dating or marrying.
It wasn’t like I struggled to find men. I was beautiful–stunning, even. I had no trouble meeting guys who adored me. But every time, my father destroyed it.
Finally, I asked my uncle to talk some sense into him.
“What’s wrong with you?” my uncle snapped. “If your daughter wants to marry, let her! You’re acting insane!”
My father didn’t answer. Instead, he grabbed my uncle’s wrist and dragged him into the study.
