Are you referring to Aurora? She is indeed beautiful and charming.”
Although Milo wasn’t a serious person, he wouldn’t joke about a lady. “However, Aurora and I are just friends.”
But he suddenly thought of something and smiled again: “Of course, if Aurora needs a boyfriend, I’d be happy to volunteer myself.”
Ferris’s deep eyes fell into a moment of silence.
Ashley didn’t notice and said with a smile: “You two look well–matched.”
Ferris remained unmoved and turned to Ashley: “Ashley, let’s go upstairs first. We’d better not disturb Mr. Ellison and his girlfriend.”
Milo was confused, and noticing my unpleasant expression, he didn’t say anything more and walked into the elevator with me.
Ashley took Ferris’s arm, her voice coquettish: “Ferris, shall we also-”
Ferris extended his hand and blocked the elevator door just as it was about to close.
“Mr. Ellison, do you mind sharing an elevator with me?”
Ferris’s voice was ice–cold, but his face showed no expression.
Milo shrugged: “Of course not.”
I stood beside Milo, silently looking away, avoiding eye contact with Ferris.
After Ferris entered, he stood next to me, and I moved closer to Milo.
When Ashley entered, she looked at Ferris, then glanced at me, secretly clenching her fists.
The elevator slowly ascended.
The elevator was also terrifyingly quiet.
Just then, another group of people squeezed in. I instinctively moved sideways, trying to get closer to Milo to make room for them.
However, the next second-
My wrist was suddenly yanked hard by a strong force.
I stumbled and crashed into a warm, solid chest.
“Sorry…” I reflexively whispered.
But the next instant, a familiar scent that made my heart tremble surrounded me–black amber mixed with cold tobacco, with a hint of wild forest atmosphere,
like a hunter in the depths of the forest at night, making my heart race.
That was Ferris’s scent.
I could feel that the wolves within us both became restless almost simultaneously, as if summoned by some strong magnetic field, suddenly awakening from sleep, roaring and wanting to be intimate with each other.
I didn’t look up, but I could feel his low, unsteady breathing almost brushing past my ear.
He was too close, so close that my whole body tensed and my heart thundered.
I took several quick breaths, pushed him away, and stepped back a few paces to maintain distance from him.
I didn’t understand why Ferris had pulled me.
I decided not to delve deeper into it and not to allow myself any more baseless fantasies.
When we reached the top floor, everyone walked out of the elevator.
I didn’t even glance at the man beside me and followed Milo’s steps.
In the spacious banquet hall, all the seats were arranged, and I happened to sit next to Milo.
Ashley’s seat was adjacent to Ferris’s.
Ashley turned back to look at my position and saw me whispering with Milo, a flash of coldness in her eyes.
She deliberately asked: “Ferris, do you think Aurora and Mr. Ellison will be a thing?”
