Milo blocked my path: “Is this about your girlfriend’s situation?”
Ferris said coldly. “This has nothing to do with Mr. Ellison.”
“Her business is my business.”
rerris’s eyes darkened slightly: “Oh? I only learned today that Miss Windsor is so attractive, with so many men willing to stand up for her.”

had guessed that after today’s events, he would come looking for me. I smiled apologetically at Milo: “Sorry, I’ll handle him.”
Milo’s smile faded. He leaned against his car, nodded, and said: “Contact me if you need anything.”
Before I could respond, Ferris forcibly dragged me away.

No matter how I explained, even with the facts laid bare, Ferris always stood on Ashley’s side.

I turned my face away, unwilling to look at him again.
But he suddenly lowered his head, his nose approaching my neck, his movements slow and dangerous.
I instinctively tried to dodge, but he trapped me between the car door and his chest with his arms.
After a moment, his eyes darkened, his breathing low and husky, as if squeezing out a bestial rasp from his throat: “Aurora, why do you… smell like another wolf?”
My heart tightened, but I gritted my teeth and said nothing.
He moved closer, his tone no longer calm but filled with undisguised jealousy and rage: “It’s Adrian, isn’t it? You let him mark you?”
“When did you become so intimate with Black Mountain’s Alpha?”
His voice was almost grinding through clenched teeth, like a beast about to lose control.
