Chapter 10
James sat in the Bugatti Veyron.
Outside the car window, a sudden thunderclap struck without warning, followed by a torrential downpour.
The gloomy sky seemed to be weighing down on the entire city. He felt at heavy pressure in his chest, as if he too was being crushed by the thick, unyielding clouds, making each breath feel labored and painful. “Open the window,” he croaked.
The driver lowered the car window as requested.
James leaned back wearily
in the chair and closed his eyes.
The cold rain mixed with wind came rushing towards him, but it failed to wake him up at all.
In the ears, there came faint murmurs of the conversations of people hiding from the rain under the awning of the roadside café.
“Exactly, Isabella finally came to her senses and decided to go back to Interpol. She is so beautiful and cool!”
“Yeah, I used to chase after James like a love–sick puppy, what was I thinking?”
James’s heart suddenly clenched, as if it were being squeezed by an invisible hand.
He suddenly opened his eyes, and they were filled with a deep crimson. color.

Chapter 10
“Stop the car! he growled in a low, stern voice.”
The driver was startled: “Mr. Keane, we’re almost at the company’s entrance.” “I told you to stop the car!” James‘ voice exploded with rage once again.
The driver cautiously pulled over the car.
A strong sense of foreboding, like a cold snake, suddenly wrapped around James’s heart.
He suddenly pushed open the car door, rushed into the rain, and grabbed the collar of a young man who had just spoken.
“What did you just say? What did Interpol do? Explain yourself clearly!”
The man was scared by him, his face turned pale, and he stammered, “I… I didn’t say anything…”
The girl next to her saw the situation and suddenly pushed James’s hand away, saying, “Let him go! Don’t think you’re so great just because you’re Mr. Keane from Washington!” The girl glared at James with disdain, saying, “You scumbag! Ms. Coffey used to be such a good, honest, and kind person.”
“One time my wallet was stolen, and she helped me get it back, without even asking for a thank you!”
“She had the looks and the intelligence, but you never knew how to appreciate her! Now you’ve pushed her to the point of giving up completely, serves you right! James’s face darkened inch by inch, and the pressure around him became terrifyingly low.”
“It’s impossible… this can’t be happening… James muttered to himself, his face as white as a sheet, his eyes filled with disbelief.”

James’s chest heaved violently, the veins on his forehead pulsating, and his temples throbbing with pain.
When was James dumped by a woman?

But he hadn’t even considered it! Not even a tiny bit!
With one hand pressing against his throbbing temple, trying to suppress the dizziness and rage that were almost consuming him.
How is that possible?
He couldn’t figure it out no matter how hard he tried.
Isabella, that woman, clearly loved him so much.
Love to the humble, love to the dust, love to the point of being willing to give up everything for him.
For him, she gave up the glory of Interpol.

Love to the point where there is no turning back, no hesitation.
How could she bear to leave him?
No way!
