Chapter 16

Zackary observed Arabella’s movements and only sat down slowly across from her when he saw her sit down.

“What do you want to say?”

The firelight flickered in Arabella’s eyes.

Compared to a year and a half ago, she was much more composed and calmer.

She was not calm.

Or perhaps, this was her.

When Zackary was studying, he always heard someone mention this female student.

Classmates and friends even joked, “Is she secretly in love with you?”

The more people mentioned it, he would also take notice.

Arabella’s name always appeared on various lists.

Later, he failed the exam and went to his second choice.

But in the second year, familiar faces were seen again during the welcome ceremony.

I checked the scores that year and Arabella’s total score was on the list, but she chose a school that didn’t match her.

Just like choosing someone who is not worthy of her.

Zackary found it difficult to articulate his feelings for her.

Seeing it would bring peace of mind.

Not being able to see may confuse, but it is only a momentary doubt.

Later, I fell in love with Gina and focused all my attention on family alliances.

He thought that was the path he was destined to take.

Gina eloped and had a flash marriage with someone else. To be honest, she was glad deep down.

But I had to force myself to put on a passionate appearance.

Getting drunk, having a relationship with Arabella, and getting married, everything fell into place.

For six years, he evaded his inner self and evaded his responsibilities.

A year and a half ago, Zackary chased after the little island, thinking he could catch up with Arabella, only to realize that she had already gone too far.

Waking up the next morning, everyone was in a panic as he had said the wrong things and done the wrong things under

the influence of alcohol.

However, it was already late.

Zackary couldn’t remember what his mood was like when he left the hotel.

Ryan saw it with his own eyes. “Did he abuse you at home?”

So many words, but he only remembered this one sentence.

After returning to the country, Zackary quickly investigated Arabella’s whereabouts.

That’s all for now.

He devoted himself to work and laid foundations in various places he had never set foot in.

Finally, step by step, the branches silently extended within her reach.

The love he deliberately suppressed was also unlocked with time and surged out.

He just loved it too late.

Arabella- Love had faded away, and only then did he slowly realize it.

Sitting at City Hall waiting for the divorce certificate, he had several thoughts of escaping.

But it was also clear that without removing this shackle, Arabella would only drift further away from him.

He heartlessly took care of everything and couldn’t wait to fly over.

Daisy was at home, he knew.

But he didn’t plan to expose it.

Scenes from the past flashed by, slowly overlapping and merging into the dancing flames before my eyes.

Zackary’s Adam’s apple bobbed, and suddenly he didn’t know where to begin.

He took off his hat and gazed at her for a long time, lowering his eyes. “My name is Zackary, I started my own business

and just settled down here.”

This set caught Arabella off guard.

“Can you give me a chance to get to know you again?”

He looked very sincere.

Just as sincere as he proposed to her initially.

Arabella’s palms grew warm, and her mind was filled with countless thoughts.

She didn’t know if she could still trust him.

“It’s very late, you should go back first.”

I was prepared for Zackary’s entanglement.

Ryan curved his lips and stared at Arabella intently, with great sincerity. “I have been pursuing a very outstanding woman recently, and I am probably not interested in anyone else.”

Very obedient.

Arabella stood still, staring blankly as she watched him leave.

Daisy walked out, wrapped her arms around her waist, and looked up, “Mom, are you feeling down?”

“No.”

It’s just a little… strange.

The next day, there was a discount at the shopping mall.

Everyone was busy hoarding, and the place was packed with people.

Arabella pushed the stroller and squeezed through the crowd.

Pushing the cart with my left hand and holding Daisy with my right hand was not very easy to handle.

Pushing and shoving, the cart slipped out of my hands.

Daisy lets go as well.
