Chapter 9
The internet exploded once again, and overnight detonated.
Overnight, Lily West’s scandals were all over the news.
It was revealed that during her time abroad, she’d been living a lavish, promiscuous lifestyle. Photos surfaced of her wearing revealing outfits, smoking, and partying-completely different from her innocent image.
As people began to recall her low SATS score-just over 6600-they realized that her supposed “hard work” to follow Mr.
Hawthorne was a joke.
Rumors also surfaced about her bullying classmates and orchestrating harassment against girls she didn’t like. These
stories were enough to make anyone quit social media.
The internet turned against Lily.
But it didn’t end there. A former servant of the Westbrook family revealed that they had treated me terribly. She went live.
“Evelyn grew up in an orphanage and worked hard to pay for my education, but when the Westbrooks took me in, they
never made up for those years. Instead, they spoiled Lily, the “fake” daughter, even more.”
The nanny tearfully explained, “Evelyn was a good student and kind-hearted, but the Westbrooks treated her like she was invisible. She lived in the maid’s room, while Lily had an entire floor for herself. Evelyn didn’t even have a bathroom bigger
than Lily’s.”
“And when Mr. Hawthorne had his accident and became crippled, Lily refused to marry him, saying she couldn’t marry a
man with a limp. But the Westbrooks had an arranged marriage, so they sent Evelyn instead. She had nearly 700 on the
exams, yet they forced her to take a leave of absence from university, while Lily, with her barely passing score, got to go
abroad and party. The Westbrooks even visited her every month while she stayed away for three years.”
The stream hit three million views in an hour.
Netizens were disgusted by the Westbrooks’ actions and began attacking them online.
More dirt on Lily kept coming out. A video surfaced showing her at a party, dressed in a short skirt, throwing cash down
from a table as people scrambled to grab it.
One girl asked her how she had so much money. Lily laughed and casually replied, “Of course, my parents are rich. You
know, I’m not biologically related to them, but they spoil me. They treat me better than their own daughter. How dumb are
they, haha…”
Lily didn’t realize she was being recorded.
Another video leaked where she mocked Mr. Hawthorne, “You know, I only got 600 points to go abroad, but Evelyn got
over 1500. They made her marry, haha, and she married a dead cripple, one that I left behind. Hawthorne may look good,
but who wants to marry a cripple? Even if he’s not broken, he won’t live well, and I can’t deal with that.”
Her friends laughed loudly and made crude jokes. “You can handle him yourself!”
Lily smirked, “Nah, I only get served.”
She then turned to kiss a handsome, blonde guy deeply.
By sunset, #LilyWestlsOver was trending worldwide.
Brand endorsements vanished overnight.
Her reality-show contract was quietly terminated.
A single tweet remained pinned to her account:
“Taking time to reflect.”
No one was buying it.
