Chapter 1
Two days before their fifth wedding anniversary, Vanessa Foster clutched her pregnancy test results as she traveled secretly to Andorra, hoping to surprise her husband who was on business,
She eagerly rushed to Drew Blackstone’s hotel room, finding the door slightly ajar. Just as she was about to push it open, voices from inside stopped her
‘Congrats on living the dream, Drew! Here’s to your new marriage with Talia.”
‘So Drew’s actually going through with it? Coming all the way to Andorra to marry her? Doesn’t Andorra have that one marriage for life law–no divorce, only widowhood?”
‘Isn’t this technically bigamy?” someone asked curiously.
‘You don’t know the half of it. Drew never actually married Vanessa legally. He’s been waiting for Falla to come of age. For five years, Drew’s technically been a bachelor!”
‘Damn, Drew’s playing chess while we’re playing checkers.”
Outside, Vanessa froze completely, her blood turning to ice.
She thought she’d misheard, but the next words plunged her into an icy abyss.
‘With Talia, it’s different–it’s real.” Drew’s voice was slow, each word carefully measured. “She gave blood to save Vanessa’s life, even willing to live in Vanessa’s shadow forever. She’ll help me take care of Vanessa. All Talia wants is a lasting marriage, which I can certainly provide.”
Vanessa instinctively stepped back, visualizing Talia’s mature, seductive face.
Five years ago, Vanessa had been in a car accident. Talla, then a high school freshman, had rushed her to the hospital and donated blood to save her life.
Talia came from poverty, with only a sick mother for family. To thank her, Vanessa and Drew had covered all her expenses, even arranging for her to study and travel abroad.
Drew had said that by saving Vanessa, Talla had saved him too.
He was willing to show his gratitude in every way possible.
Chapter 1
What she hadn’t realized was that his gratitude included raising Talia to adulthood only to marry
her.
More laughable still was that for five years, she’d never suspected a thing.
“What about Vanessa? Aren’t you worried she’ll find out?” one of Drew’s friends asked.
Drew lowered his gaze, his long fingers quickly tapping his phone screen, his tone carrying an imperceptible certainty: “I’ll continue loving her as always. She’ll never discover the truth.”
“All of you keep your mouths shut. Not a word of this reaches Vanessa.”
The next second, Vanessa’s phone vibrated.
She looked at Drew’s message, her heart stopping as cold dread spread through her body.
[Sweetheart, I miss you so much. I hate being on this business trip–every second away from you is
torture. I’ll do everything to make it home for our anniversary. Love you.]
Vanessa clutched her phone, looking up at Drew in the room. He was smiling, habitually unbuttoning the top two buttons of his shirt, his eyes gleaming with an indecipherable light.
Her vision blurred as hot tears flooded her eyes.
This wasn’t her Drew.
Her Drew was the boy who climbed through windows to retrieve her fallen hairpin, breaking his leg
but still comforting her not to cry.
He was the eighteen–year–old who climbed a snowy mountain peak just to confess his love, swearing
to love her forever and never lie to her.
He was the twenty–year–old who wrote 9,999 love letters and baked a hundred different cakes to
propose to her.
He was the twenty–two–year–old who personally planned their dream wedding, the man who couldn’t bear to be apart from her after they married…
Not this liar who professed love to her while marrying another woman.

Vanessa’s heart felt like it was being sliced open as she bit her lip hard.
The conversation continued inside, but she no longer had the courage to listen.
Her phone vibrated again–Drew calling.
She remembered once forgetting her phone while going out, and Drew, unable to reach her for three
hours, had mobilized every Blackstone Group employee to search for her.
The moment he found her, he’d embraced her with reddened eyes: “Vanessa, I thought you’d left me. I can’t live without you.”
Since then, Vanessa never forgot her phone, nor did she ever miss his calls.
Now, however, she had no intention of answering.
Inside the room, Drew’s expression changed instantly. He nervously gripped his phone and dialed
again.
When Vanessa still didn’t answer, Drew’s heart raced with anxiety. He stood up, interrupting the
others‘ conversation: “Everyone, quiet! Why isn’t my wife answering her phone?”
The room fell into brief silence.
‘Relax, Drew. Maybe she just didn’t see it.”
‘You’re too anxious about your wife. It’s normal not to answer occasionally.”
‘It’s NOT normal! You don’t understand our love!”
Drew furrowed his brow, his eyes filled with genuine worry and unease. He paced back and forth with his phone, calling her repeatedly.
Standing outside the door, Vanessa found it almost comical. He clearly loved another woman, yet still worried about her so intensely.
Could his heart truly hold two people?
Vanessa texted him back: [In the shower. Will call you later.]

His expression visibly relaxed, even brightening with a smile.
[Baby, I can’t live without you. Never leave me.]
Reading this message, Vanessa finally broke down in tears.
They’d been together seven years, married for five. He constantly expressed his love for her with
such direct words.
Yet in reality, he hadn’t even given her a legal marriage.
Footsteps sounded inside, and Vanessa fled to the stairwell.
Drew emerged with his entourage, entering the room across the hall with a security code.
Talia stood there in a red high–slit evening gown, her figure voluptuous, her face possessing a seductiveness beyond her years. The moment she saw Drew, she pressed herself against him.
“Hubby, do I look hot in this dress?” she purred.
‘Gorgeous, baby. My woman looks stunning in anything,” Drew replied.
His lips curved upward as he wrapped his arm around her waist, walking toward the elevator.
His gaze remained fixed on Talia, completely unaware of Vanessa behind the stairwell door.
Vanessa’s heart felt like it was being carved with a dull knife, the endless pain making it hard to breathe. She crouched on the floor, curling into a ball.
f earlier she’d been struggling, trying to find excuses for Drew’s behavior, now she had to accept the ruth–Drew had truly fallen in love with another woman.
She cried until nearly passing out before finally standing up.
She wasn’t about to be Helen of Troy or Guinevere–she absolutely refused to accept him loving two
women simultaneously.
Since Drew and Talia were already legally married, she would step aside.

She would disappear completely from Drew’s world.
Vanessa took a taxi to the airport and bought the earliest flight back home.
Her first action upon returning was to schedule an abortion.
