Chapter 188
“You’re really good with kids, you know that?”
Niamh just smiled, saying nothing.
“If you love kids so much, why not have one of your own?”
The moment Flynn saw the sudden change in Niamh’s expression, he realized he’d just crossed a line.
They left the amusement park and walked in silence toward Flynn’s home. On the way, Niamh handed him a folder.
“Help me with my divorce case. And whatever’s inside–just pretend you never saw it.”
Flynn had always dismissed Niamh’s threats as empty. He figured the worst she could have on him was proof of a few illicit affairs with past clients. Nothing he couldn’t shrug off.
But Niamh’s voice was calm and cold. “Maybe you don’t care if people know you’re a scoundrel–after all, your clients come to you for your skills, not your morals. But…academic fraud, forged degrees? Scandals like that could actually ruin you.”
Flynn stopped in his tracks. Gone was the usual air of mockery and bravado.
“Fine. I’ll take your case. Come to my office tomorrow, and we’ll talk.”
Niamh’s lips curled into a smile. “Glad to hear it.”
It didn’t take long for word to reach Jonathan-
Niamh had hired Flynn to represent her in the divorce.
“About Attorney Sinclair…” Prescott, the general manager, hesitated in Jonathan’s office. He knew he was overstepping, but he couldn’t help worrying.
The moment Jonathan heard Niamh was now Flynn’s client, his expression turned glacial. He said nothing, but the tension in the room was palpable; it felt as if a storm was brewing beneath that icy exterior.
Flynn’s reputation was no secret to Jonathan. Prescott worried Jonathan might assume Niamh was reckless, or worse, that she’d end up suffering for the sake of her lawsuit. After all, Flynn’s private life was notoriously chaotic–especially when it came to his female clients.

Prescott wanted to say something, to offer advice or reassurance, but the words just wouldn’t come.
“Let Barrister Lockwood’s team handle this,” Jonathan finally instructed, his voice flat.
A few days later, Jonathan’s legal team received the court summons: Highridge District Court, Monday at ten.
Things were spiraling far from Jonathan’s original plan.
He’d deliberately instructed Barrister Lockwood to draft a divorce agreement demanding an astronomical settlement from Niamh–not because he wanted the money, but to send a message: this marriage wasn’t going to end just because she wanted it to. At least, not on her terms.
But now…
At Jade Peak House, Jonathan lay alone on the living room sofa, trying to catch a few hours of sleep.
Everything in the house had been restored to its original state. Not a trace of pink remained, no sign that Marina had ever stayed here. She’d only been living here for a while because her own apartment was being renovated, the noise unbearable.
Now, the place looked exactly as it had before Niamh left. The only real difference was that Niamh was gone.
Jonathan thought exhaustion would pull him under, but sleep never came.
A person can pause, but time doesn’t wait.
Monday arrived, right on schedule.
Both sides–Niamh’s and Jonathan’s–were fully prepared for the courtroom battle.
But before they even set foot in the courthouse, the place was already swarmed: reporters, influencers, women’s rights activists, all crowding the entrance, blocking every path.
By the time Niamh and Jonathan got word, the internet had already exploded.
Headlines screamed: “Billionaire Cheat! Thomas Group CEO Jonathan’s
