Lacey skipped a class and went ahead early.
I waited until after school to go.
When I got there, there were people sitting
inside the private room.
Inside, Chad and Chloe were sitting.
Lacey took the lead, grabbed my arm, pulled
me into the private room, and shouted,
“Chad, look who’s here!”
My expression darkened, Chad leaned back
on the sofa, scoffed, and looked at me with a
half–smile.
I turned my head to look at Lacey. Her
expression was evasive, but she still
encouraged me,
“Starling, sit next to Chad, there’s still space
there.”
I didn’t say anything, but just looked at her
quietly.
Lacey and I had known each other since we
started school, and we often went to classes
and ate together, and went out to play during
vacations.
I really regarded her as my friend.
Chad stood up from the sofa. He naturally put
く
his arm around Chloe’s shoulders, lowered his
head, and flicked her chin, saying,
“Let’s go, didn’t you want to eat C’s desserts
tonight? I’ll take you to buy them now.”
Chloe’s cheeks reddened, and she nodded
obediently.
When passing by me, Chloe turned her head
and smiled triumphantly at me.
Lacey saw this smile too.
She was extremely angry,
“Starling, did you see that! How arrogant she
is!”
I didn’t speak, but just looked at her calmly.
Lacey bit her lip and said, “Starling, I really
can’t stand Chloe… of course, mainly, I’m
fighting injustice for you, why should she be
the one to come from behind!”
I said, “Let’s not hang out anymore in the
future.”
