The next morning, I arrived at the classroom.
Chloe was sitting in her seat eating breakfast.
Seeing me arrive, she hooked her lips at me
and said to Chad, who was sleeping on the
table beside her,
“Chad, thank you for running to the east of
the city early in the morning to buy me
steamed dumplings. I’m so happy.”
Chad raised his eyelids, “If you like it, then…”
Before he finished speaking, he saw me and
stopped instantly.
I passed by the two of them without looking
sideways and sat down at my seat to start
reading.
Until I went to the bathroom after class, I was
blocked by Chad in the corner.
“Starling, Chloe said she wasn’t feeling well
this morning, so…”
“Oh.”
I interrupted him before he could finish,
nodded, and tried to walk around him to
leave.
Chad frowned and grabbed my wrist,
“Starling, don’t be so petty. If you
encountered a classmate who wasn’t feeling
well, you would do the same as me.”
I shook him off, a sneer appearing on the
corner of my mouth.
This kind of thing had happened many times
before.
Chloe would always use various reasons to
steal the things that Chad had promised to
give me.
She was innocent and simple, with a gentle.
and watery personality.
Every time, she would apologize to me with
く
red eyes, “Starling, I’m sorry, it’s my fault…”
In comparison, I was ignorant, had a bad
temper, and liked to make trouble
unreasonably.
Chad rubbed his eyebrows, “Okay, don’t be
angry, I’ll take you to other city to have fun
this weekend, have a meal and watch a
movie.”
This is what he would do when my conflicts
with Chad got big.
He wouldn’t apologize or solve the problem.
He would take me to see a movie or have a
meal together, and easily gloss over it.
I ignored him and left directly.
