Christopher yelled, “Enough! You know full well how you fell down that day! Wen is not that kind of person. She’ll never lay a finger on you! If not, do you think your baby would have survived until now?
“You’re too naive! She actually had all kinds of ways to kill you when she shipped you off. Evelyn, this is my final warning. Behave yourself, or I won’t go easy on you!”
Before Evelyn could react, Christopher disconnected the call right away.
Just then, Daniel sent him a location. It was the same as the one that Tommy had sent.
When Christopher thought of everything Evelyn had done, he sent Daniel a message. “Go to the hospital to deal with Evelyn. Make sure she doesn’t say anything that she’s not supposed to say.”
After he got into his car, he sped away to the hotel.
While he was waiting at a traffic light, he saw some students crossing the road in front of his
car.
A boy removed his uniform and held it over the girl’s head, blocking the glaring sunlight. “I’m going to copy your homework again today! You can’t tell our teacher, or I won’t bring you cakes anymore.”
“I want a chocolate cake. If not, you can forget about it!” The girl’s arrogant look was exactly the same as how Wendy had looked in the past.
Back then, Wendy didn’t get along well with Samuel because he would pick on her all day. He would report her for secretly eating snacks during classes or for not running during PE classes.
Every time this happened, Christopher would always step up to mend the situation for her.
At that time, Wendy would hold her chin up proudly and stand in front of him. “You were the one who wanted to help me, so you’d better not complain to my parents later!”
Christopher kept nodding and shoved her favorite mini pie into her hand. “I’ll be at your mercy!”
All the memories he thought he had long forgotten became vivid in his mind at this moment.
During his younger days, he didn’t have much pocket money, so he would have to buy snacks for Wendy using the money he had earned from his part–time job.
His father would punish him after he found out about it. Christopher had been beaten up so terribly that he couldn’t even walk properly.
Wendy had broken a tree branch and handed it to him. Then, she limped around like he did. Mr. Gardner, this is your walking stick. Don’t forget about it!”
Her exaggerated action made him burst into laughter. He fell on the ground, but he no longer felt the pain in his legs.
When the green light lit up, Christopher grinned. He had shared so many memories with Wendy, so he definitely wouldn’t lose!
The Maybach sped on the road.
Right before the wedding ceremony began, he barged into the hotel. All the guests cast their gazes upon him.
The Howells‘ relatives didn’t know him, but the Sullivans certainly recognized him.
Someone shot Christopher an angry look and chided an attendant unhappily, “What are the security guards doing? Why did they let some trash in? Do they want to get fired?
“Kick him out of here! Quick! An unfaithful jerk like him doesn’t deserve to attend Wen’s wedding!” The person who spoke was Wendy’s close relative.
Christopher dared not to argue with them, so he kept apologizing.
Tommy couldn’t stop sighing when he saw Christopher. “So, you’re here.”

When Christopher found me, I was trying to get mentally prepared behind the stage.
The curtain was lifted suddenly, revealing a familiar face. His eyes were red as he stared at me with an exceptionally sincere expression. “Wen, it’s me. I’m here.”
I glanced at him nonchalantly. Still, I couldn’t help but curse inwardly.
“You’re a guest, and the guests shall stay outside. Please leave,” I said.
As I was putting down the curtain, he gripped my hand. His voice was trembling as he said, ‘ I’m here to bring you home. Have you forgotten that it’s our wedding today?”
