Chapter 11
Chapter 11
Cassian completely panicked. His knuckles turned pale as he gripped the phone, his face draining of color. He began to wonder if Naomi had altered her identity in order to vanish entirely from his life.
No way! It was impossible. They had loved each other so deeply. Naomi would never leave him.
Cassian threw the phone with a furious crash. His eyes burned with a red rage and disbelief. He refused to believe Naomi would really leave him.
Afterward, he exited the villa and encountered Rayna. She held a box, her eyes red and her hands trembling.
“Cassian, this came from Naomi. What… What does she mean by this?”
Rayna’s hands trembled as she pried open the box, revealing a disturbingly lifelike baby doll
drenched in blood.
Inside was a voice recorder playing Naomi’s venomous voice on a loop. “Rayna, you seduced Cassian. You and that baby in your belly deserve to die. I won’t stop my revenge. This time, I won’t let Cassian catch me.”
Cassian’s expression shifted instantly. As he listened to that familiar voice, the regret in his eyes gradually faded, replaced by an intense chill.
So, Naomi deliberately hid her identity to take revenge on Rayna. He preferred to believe she left him for that reason rather than thinking she’d abandoned him forever.
“Cassian, how did Naomi find out? She hates me to death. What should I do? This baby… I can’t keep this baby.” Rayna’s voice trembled as she spoke. She turned to head straight for the hospital to get an abortion.
Cassian grabbed her and pulled her into his arms. “As long as I’m here, no one can hurt you.”
“Naomi’s grown bold. She actually dares to go against me.” His expression darkened, all the unease and panic in his heart completely overtaken by fury.
He frowned. After glancing at the living room, now a wreck, he carried Rayna out. The box with the bloody doll inside was left discarded on the floor.
Out of his sight, a sinister look flashed across Rayna’s face as she smirked in satisfaction.
Luckily, she managed to react quickly. She staged the illusion that Naomi had gone into hiding to take revenge on her. Cassian was once again disappointed in Naomi, and his attention had
shifted back to her.
Naomi was gone, and Rayna would make sure she never came back again.
Cassian brought Rayna back to the hospital and stayed by her side day and night. She couldn’t rest or eat properly, constantly jolting awake from nightmares in the middle of the night.
Her condition worsened. She couldn’t keep food down, and even the baby was starting to show signs of distress.
Cassian grew increasingly worried. With every day Naomi remained missing, Rayna’s anxiety only deepened.
He decided to host a banquet, using the public announcement of his relationship with Rayna to draw Naomi out. Hence, he could explain everything to her face-to-face. As long as she stopped targeting Rayna, he would love her like he used to, choosing not to hold her recent actions against her.
On the day of the banquet, Cassian arrived hand in hand with Rayna. She was beautifully dressed. The crowd burst into knowing applause, offering their congratulations without needing anything explained.
Rayna couldn’t stop smiling at the thought of publicly becoming his wife. She graciously accepted everyone’s well wishes, basking in the moment.
However, Cassian showed no hint of joy. He paid no attention to the blessings around him; his eyes fixed absently on the entrance of the hall.
He was waiting for Naomi. He believed she would come. She would definitely come to confront
him.
Minute by minute, time ticked by. Just as the emcee invited Cassian and Rayna to the stage to speak, the banquet hall doors slowly swung open.
