Chapter 191

“Matty, Sharon, here–you two take these.”

Sharon smiled and thanked him. “Lately I’ve been eating so many desserts, I’m starting to wonder if I’ll gain weight.”

Biting into his cone, Xavier replied, “A woman with a few curves look better anyway. All bones just looks… wrong.”

Matty looked up curiously. “Sharon, did you not used to eat sweets?”

“Mm,” she nodded. “After I had Theo, I almost stopped completely.”

Matty paused for a second, then seemed to understand.

“Is it because Theo is lactose intolerant, so you stopped eating sweets too?”

Sharon gave a small nod.

Xavier, seemingly reminded of something, added, “All these years, you’ve just been holding back like this? You were married to Carter for five years, and I don’t think he ever even knew what you liked to eat.”

Sharon had always liked bold flavors-especially spicy food. Practically addicted to it. But for years, everything she made was mild and clean, because of Carter’s and Theo’s dietary needs.

She said, “If I don’t allow Theo to eat something, I have to set the example myself. Otherwise, how do I have the right to tell him no?”

That was when Matty, sharp for his age, piped up, “Sharon, you can eat whatever you want around me. Don’t worry. If you don’t want me eating something, I swear I won’t even take a bite!”

From the side, Theo’s voice cut through, “Fake.”

He looked over at the three of them, sitting there happily eating their ice cream.

His eyes flicked to a nearby vendor selling the same cones. He gulped, almost unconsciously.

He really wanted one.

But he was lactose intolerant. Stuff like that wasn’t good for his body.

Forget it. Better not.

He forced himself to look away.

But then Kelly had once said that most ice creams these days were just made with additives. There might not even be anything in there that would trigger his intolerance.

A lowes probably wouldn’t hurt, right?

two. No way

Mom had just told Matty nut to eat certain things, and Matty had actually listened

He had to be more disciplined than Matly

He could jose to anyone but not Mally

So even with his mouth watering at the sight of the ice cream, Theo held back

“Sir! Bad news! Theo is missing!”

Chaos suddenly broke out in the Biggs household.

All Marie had done was go prepare some fruit, but when she returned, Theo was gone.

She and the other servants searched the house top to bottom, inside and out, but there was no sign of him.

Panicking, Marie picked up the phone and called Carter.

He was in the middle of a meeting when he answered. His face tightened instantly.

“What happened? How could Theo just disappear?”

Marie’s voice trembled, on the verge of tears. “I don’t know… He said he wanted some fruit, so I went to make it. When I came back, he was gone.”

Hearing that, Carter didn’t hesitate. He stood up.

“Meeting’s over,” he said sharply, then turned to Simon. “Find out where Theo went. Now.”

He grabbed his phone again and dialed another number.

“Mom, is Theo at your place?”

It wasn’t unusual for Theo to spend weekends with Madeline.

“No,” she replied. “Yesterday he told me he was going to a friend’s birthday party today, so he didn’t come over.”

Something in her tone shifted. “Why? What’s wrong with Theo?”

Carter’s voice dropped, cold and tight. “He’s disappeared.”
