Chapter 309

“Carter, she’s out here blowing your money like it’s nothing. She’s buying whatever she wants and even fighting us for it. Seriously, how long until we can freeze her assets and stop her from pretending she’s something she’s not?” Nate’s face twisted with frustration.

Carter shot him a cold glance. “Sharon and I are divorced. You think freezing someone else’s assets is that simple?”

A temporary freeze? Sure, that was doable. But a few days-ten at most-would be pointless.

“I’ve got things to handle,” Carter said, “Nate, I’ll leave it to you to make sure Kelly gets home.”

“Got it,” Nate replied.

As soon as Carter left, Kelly leaned in, lowering her voice. “Nate, didn’t you say you were going to pin something on her? How’s that coming along? Once Sharon’s convicted, all her funds will be seized and returned to Carter.”

Nate scratched his head, irritation flickering in his eyes. “I talked to the lawyers. It’s not that easy to fabricate charges. Still… I’ve already got people working on it. Just needs a couple more days. Two, maybe three.”

Kelly visibly relaxed. Two or three days-she could wait that long.

But Nate couldn’t. The more he thought about it, the angrier he got.

“No. I need to expose this gold-digging scam artist. Let everyone see her for what she really is.”

Snatching up his phone, he started calling contacts, tapping into his network to destroy Sharon’s reputation.

“Hmph. She thinks she can take us on? Does she even know who she’s dealing with? Just because she has 100 million, she thinks she’s invincible? I’ll show her how powerless money really is when it’s up against capital itself.”

Smearing someone’s reputation was disgustingly easy.

Of course, Nate wasn’t stupid enough to spread anything truly scandalous-nothing vulgar or salacious. Sharon was still Carter’s ex-wife. She was also Theo’s mother. If he crossed that line, it’d be a direct slap in Carter’s face.

But there were still ways to socially ruin her.

In a low, venomous tone, he ordered, “Put it out there-Sharon has pissed off both me and Carter. Anyone who helps her will be openly making enemies of us.”

There was a pause on the other end of the line. The man’s breath caught.

A message like that was basically a death sentence in the Zachemaine business world.

Nate’s lips curled. “Oh… and one more thing. Sure, accusing her might not be enough to convict her right away. But if a few reporters happen to snap photos of her walking in and out of a police station? No matter what the truth is, those gossip accounts will eat her alive.”

Satisfied with his plan, Nate made a few more calls to set it all in motion.

When he finally hung up, Kelly asked, “Nate… didn’t you think about teaming up with Julliard?”

“Julliard?” Nate waved his hand dismissively. “Forget it. That guy’s too soft. He’d never get involved in something like this. Doesn’t matter anyway. As long as Carter and I are on the same page, it’s enough.”

Inside her room, Sharon scrolled through her phone, scanning the latest gossip.

“Oh my god. So that female violinist disappeared because the Hendricks family blacklisted her?”

“Sources say she pissed off the Hendricks and Biggs families. That’s why she got banned.”

“Hendricks and Biggs? No way… Did she get caught seducing both Nate and Carter, made Kelly jealous, and got herself blacklisted?”

“Or maybe she crossed Kelly. Everyone knows Nate and Carter treat her like a princess.”

“Not gonna lie… yeah, I know it’s problematic, but Kelly really is talented. Can’t blame those two for fighting over her.”

Right then, a sharp knock sounded at the door.

Sharon rose, walked over, and opened it.

Standing outside were two officers in uniform.

“Sharon McKinzie,” one of them said, voice clipped, “you’ve been reported for leaking trade secrets. We’ll need you to come with us for questioning.”
