Chapter 311
The expression on Sharon’s face was far from what Nate and Kelly had hoped for.
Nate’s brows knitted together. “What the hell are you laughing at?”
Sharon’s voice was light and airy. “I’m laughing at how stupid you are.”
Kelly let out a delicate chuckle. “Sharon, I understand… You don’t want to look embarrassed in front of us. But really, with things as bad as they are, there’s no shame in surrendering.”
Her gaze shifted to the necklace around Sharon’s neck.
“If you’re willing to return that necklace to me,” Kelly said, “along with Shaluna, I believe… Carter might be willing to forgive you for stealing his trade secrets.” 1
The necklace Sharon wore wasn’t Deep Blue—it was the one her mother had left her. Kelly had never cared much for its actual value. Still, she wanted it.
Whatever she laid her eyes on should belong to her. Whether it was the necklace, Shaluna, or even Carter himself.
Sharon smiled. “Kelly, I used to think you were clever. Turns out, not so much. You should’ve known-I asked Carter for a divorce long ago. But you didn’t believe me. You thought I was playing hard to get… sabotaging things on purpose.
“Truth is, if it weren’t for your constant meddling, we would’ve divorced ages ago. And I would’ve left the marriage with no money or assets to my name. But now, thanks to you… I walked away with a fortune.”
She paused, letting her words sink in, then fixed her gaze on Kelly.
“Kelly, you’re really a saint, you know? Without your help, I wouldn’t have had the money to show up at that auction… or to fight you for everything you wanted.”
“That necklace… Deep Blue. You wanted it badly, right? If not for you pushing things the way you did, I wouldn’t have gotten it either.”
Kelly’s eyes burned red with fury. Her lips trembled as she forced a cold laugh. “Just wait. However you got that 100 million, you’ll have to return it the same way.”
Sharon tilted her head, her smile cool. “We’ll see.”
Without another word, she turned and walked away.
Every sentence she’d said stabbed at Kelly.
Kelly stood there, fists clenched, teeth grinding, her eyes radiating hatred.
Fine. Let her act smug a little longer. Once she walked out that door… she wouldn’t be smiling for long.
The moment Sharon and her lawyer stepped outside the station, a mob of reporters swarmed toward her like they’d been lying
in wait.
“Sharon, after going viral recently, it seems you were suddenly blacklisted. Was it because you offended someone powerful?”
“Sharon, why are you coming out of the police station? Is your ban related to a criminal investigation?”
“Sharon, rumors say you’ve been impersonating Mrs. Biggs to deceive people. Were you summoned today for infringing on Mrs. Biggs’s legal rights?” 1
Chapter 311
While Sharon spent the night in custody, the tide online had shifted again.
With Nate’s careful orchestration and a flood of insider gossip leaking out, the internet had exploded. The hate was overwhelming-impossible to suppress.
Right then, Nate and Kelly stepped out of the station, catching sight of Sharon being completely surrounded by the press Nate sneered. “She got lucky last time with that livestream. No way she’s getting out of this one.”
He pulled out his phone and casually opened a livestream.
Kelly stood beside him, her lips curling into a cold smile. She glanced around. “Didn’t you invite Carter here too? When’s he getting here?”
